good morning,  thanks CC for setting me straight about your "river"  I will try to remember it next year when you start b1tching about it again..

I sat outside and just sat outside and had my cuppa today..  shirtless,,  not one mosquito landed on me..  I wonder if 30 guineas patrolling the yard had anything to do with that ?

If we can just get through the next week without a surprise frost,  it looks like a bumper crop of blackberries is in the making..  I haven't seen so many blossoms for years..  even the volunteer patch is loaded..

the sun was out, but it sort of clouded up and a few drops of rain came down..  I was hoping for no rain until at least tonight so I can till the bean patch again..  If this rain persists, I am going to just hand broadcast the bean seeds and hope for the best..

Oh, I'm pretty sure you'll hear me b!tching about it plenty this year yet, Jim.  lau.gif

Do you make any wine with your blackberries?

Not a cloud in the sky down here, yet. Looks to be another hot one. Plenty of squitoes down here though.  tongue.gif

Stay cool, everyone, and have a great holiday!

Jim -- I noticed a TON of black berry blooms also, I was telling DH I didnt remember seeing this many last year. I guess now I know I'm not crazy lol

Good morning everyone. Holy cow the mosquitos are horrible over here. I think we need some Guineas :)  Happy Memorial Day, and Thank you to wall who served or is serving to keep us free.

My Buff Orpinton Rooster is 13 weeks old today and for the last 2 going on 3 days he keeps trying to make my ducks. I keep shooing his away but he keeps trying to go after them. He tried it with my 4 week old duckling this morning so she is now in the pen so he cant get to her. He tries it with the older Mallards too but they run and the other ducks chase him.  Will he hurt the ducks if he keeps doing this? Should I pen him instead of the ducks? Why isnt he going after the other chickens?

Well I hope everyone has a nice day. We have no plans here. DH is a veteran so its his call on what we do today.

Morning All!!

Happy Memorial Day and to my fellow Vets.. Thank you for also Serving!

Saturday was "lets plant TONS of flowers in every available pot" day... I think I got a few too many this year.

I have been meaning to plant them for almost 2 weeks.

I am going to send a registered letter to the president and the founder of the company I used to work for, they have not returned calls or emails and I still have one or two checks due to me. So then it will be theft and fraud and anything else I can think of.

I am also going to call the police departments of their respective towns/cities and see what I can do there.. tee hee.

Yesterday was a, lets stay inside and not move much day!! I did go out to feed the livestock and chickens. And today I am meeting with a nice lady I have given chickens to before, she wants the bantam cockerels that were either hatched out or purchased as straight run chicks... I am keeping a few including the blue andalusian that Kristi hatched out from H&R's eggs. He may go to a new home but for now he is staying.

I'm sitting in the yard, with my two dogs and my clients dog enjoying the breeze and cooler weather. I love a laptop and wifi!!

Well I have to get to watering the plants and to plant my perennials.

Carol.

KENandrs go to the homeade incubator section on BYC and you will see how the designs are and the wiring. It is very thorough I know there are cabinet designs there. When you get a grasp of the concept there will be no problems I am sure. Just don't rush it and you will be fine. Good Luck! :)

WICC good luck with the letters!

  Apyl the chickens are too fast! LOL I would pen him in time out maybe he will learn a thing or two. Mysquitos finally made it here and I am unprepared. I guess I will use the horse spray I got EQyss Premier marigold is safe for anyone including people.;

Unk Beautiful Plant (can't seem to spell Azaelea ???? so calling it plant) lol

I keep thinking of a reason to head up to ER so I can see your greenhouse. Do you happen to have any extra tomato plants to sell ??

CC sounds like you need ducks. Muscovies and maybe a nice pair of geese to eat the weeds.

And if that doesn't help what about getting BBP's little bucklings !!! They sure are cute !!! love.gif

These goat bucklings are driving me nuts! My last goats were not this dumb and annoying. I'm thinking about selling the brown one. He's just an idiot. They cry all the time. And there is nothing wrong with them, they are mad because they are in a pen. They have started eating leaves so they have to be. One butts the bottle so much I'm covered in milk whenever I feed him. I tried putting it in a bucket, but they are way too brain dead to comprehend it. If someone gave me the money I have into them I would sell them in an instant, even if they were going for meat. Maybe I need to put up a Craigslist ad. I have too much going on to take on these little beasts. And my husband will not help me with anything.

Could the one that is crying be in pain. Perhaps from the debudding? Just like babies, they cry for a reason, just don't know why with animals sometimes.

Could they perhaps sense you don't care for them??? give em extra loving and see what happens. You are their mom now. I'd take them if I didn't already have 6 of my own..... pets.

Good Luck I hope it gets better for you.

nice to see that a few of you have finally got out of bed..  It is sunny here now, and hot ..

I rewired the 4ftx4ft electric brooder hood.. I added a light bulb that will stay on all the time. The chicks are too dumb to go under it at night without a light on..  they all just pile around the door because that is the lightest spot just before it gets dark..

As soon as Annie gets home with my screw in hooks, I can finish closing up the fence, then I can let the adolescent chicks out in the big fenced in yard..

I gotta keep checking the water jugs for the penned up chicks.. they really can suck it down in this  heat..

I think it had more to do with what you said earlier !!!

the old saying, if you can smell yourself, everybody else could smell you long ago.. I think I need a shower.. gag gag.. I'll bet you could have gone a lifetime without that knowledge, eh?

I got caught with my shirt off yesterday outside too. I took all of my ducklings and two goslings outside and gave them some water time. The seemed chilled so I took my t shirt off and drie them off.

Of course someone decides to pull in and buy eggs !!! I held my wet t shirt in front of me as I told her to stay back while DH brought me a dry one !!!

Sat in front of a campfire last night, I guess you could say by myself unless you can call a OM sitting in a chair next to you snoring companionship !!! th.gif

Before he fell asleep he told me to check the door, he thinks someone left something there for us while we went to town for ice cream........ So stupid me checked.

There was a frog sticking on the glass window !!!!! I didn't stick aroud long enough to even see what color it was !!! GROSS. But I guess better a frog then a snake !!!! lol

Oh and Jim, yes it was 81st  you must have gotten that wrong in your head !!!! old.gif hugs.gif
