Evening To All...yep I agree that sounded good bl4...I think with enough valuable information for the city board to swallow they will have to make a change...good luck, sorry you missed the meeting.

Just made it home from the meeting at Camp. Final invoice for the new well and pump was discussed...total bill came to $6388.22...more than we expected....now we should be go to go with the water in the future....broke our checkbook, but we were blessed to have just enough to cover the cost....no more problems for awhile we are all hoping and praying...we are so thankful we had the funds.

We talked about maybe taking another row of trees behind where everyone parks their campers around the circle....some folks said that it was hard to back them far enough back....we are still undecided on the issue. Prolly will in the future....everyones campers aeem to be getting longer.

Another water run today....Need some rain for sure....beets look really go though and so do the beans.

Jennie wants to go to Iola Old Car Show tomorrow, so me and her are gonna make at least a half day of it. The shelter at Camp is named the Carl Keller shelter...he will be at the car show....he holds the guiness record for the person who has owned a new car the longest....He has a showroom looking Packard that he drives every summer to shows and places...I know the year of the car...now if I could only remember....LOL

BigZ, I know some place you can park at for the show. My friends parents always rent out their yard during the show, very sweet people AND they have an Australorp hen at their house. Let me know and I will give you directions.... and tell them I sent you there! ;)

Maybe he should try changing the seat belts. Or was that the first thing he tried?   hide.gif    lau.gif

We're hoping for rain down here too, Bigz. The weather man said we haven't even had an inch of rain in over 40 days now. You got way more raspberries than I did. I think I picked a handful that were ripe. The next time I went out, they were all gone. Same with my currants, but that's ok. It's a hard year for critters to find food. Sorry to hear about the well bill, but glad you had the funds to cover it.

Sounds like you're doing great on the poultry ed. idea, Bl4. Good luck! I can send you some links to advantages of raising your own chickens/eggs are healthier info if you want. Great news about the police chief!  clap.gif

MLH, you forgot to say "if he can find the spare parts that he probably has at least 3 or 4 of lying around somewhere".  lau.gif

Hey now, Mr. Stinky!  tongue2.gif   And how did you manage to not get bitchy censored, anyway?

Sorry for the super long post, but I missed a day. At least I was only 7 pages behind this time. Not a peep out of Bigfam? That's amazing.  wink.png  I sure hope we get some rain on Saturday. This is just terrible how dry it is down here! I spent quite a while running jugs of water out to some of our smaller trees around the yard. One of my chestnut trees leaves are all brown & shrivelled up. sad.png  I soaked it down real good, I just hope it survives. A lot of other trees are all loosing their leaves, even the box elders. I didn't think anything could kill them. Well, better get to bed. I want to get up early to clean out the coop before it gets stupid hot outside. Sweet dreams, all!

Hi all--I am exhausted after this day for sure...tomorrow looks to be worse! he.gif  Fair week is always crazy but....

OK--check this out!  As promised a pic of my chocolate entry for today's competition:

fair 2012 011.JPGNow hold your breath....I WON first place!  Yeah!  I get a check for 25 bucks...that will just about pay for the desert! (just kidding it's not quite that much!!)  I had barn duty in the chicken barn and lots of people brought in a spoon and had some.  It is GF too!  The way I did the crust Angie is I got a package of horendously expensive FG cookies at WalMart, ground them up in my processor and added no sugar or butter...then you can skip added butter ans sugar and just press it into the SF pan.  I brought the empty container homme and now there is another cheesecake in it for tomorrow's class party!

OK--seriously tired...gotta get up to hunt fox again in the morning.  Trapped a cat last night and found out that it was the neighbor's.  I had caught it a couple years ago and neutered it (and it's brother)  Ya think the guy woulda said thanks? Ha!

Good night all--Terri O

Hi All!

unk... nice having cheap slave labor now and then! wink.png LOL... Your comment to vicki about the hybrid "reds" fallowed by your comment to Jim about "best be eatin some of those baby reds with those peas" threw me a bit! LOLlau.gifhide.gif

MLH.... your bbunnies are spoiled! LOL But then, most of us are spoiling some sort of critter/s!

krisp..... short of a pot or locking it up, I would say try to tame him. When he realizes he won't get hurt when handled he should be OK when the hens are. It depends too on breed and age how well he'll take to it.

Ken... congrats on the hatch!

bl4... sounds like you got a good start for getting thing changed!

BigZ.... So glad your camp could get the well taken care of without going into debt! Hope it didn't kill to many other projects.

TO.... Congrats on the cake!!! Looks great!

CC... our trees are going down hill too! I got maybe a dozen black raspberries and the blackberries don't look so hot either, hmm.png

Well, another kitty went to a new home today. That leaves 2 black boys left. We thought 1 was a girl but now that their a little older.... it's a boy!  Speaking of changing sex... looks like my favorite hen from the fools hatch is a roo! Guess I got fooled undefined

Guess that's it... I lead a dull life roll.png.... night!

good morning,  I see everybody is offline..  WTH ?  I went to bed before midnight, so in keeping with tradition, I woke up around 3 AM..  Had my cuppa already..

Annie had me set a trap last night with the carcass of a guinea..  we have been having a lot of roadkills lately..    but something keeps coming and picking up the dead ones..  Fox, no doubt.. comes during the daytime , even..

I still have not seen the peahen and her baby..

Dan, I thought the same thing about the rabbit sh!t.. what a waste to toss it into the dump..  It makes excellent fodder for a worm bed also..  I read somewhere that a guy made a worm bed directly under his rabbit hutches,,  multi tasking for sure..

No baby red spuds for the pea banquet.    speaking of spuds..  I have about 30 pounds of seed potatoes in a tub.. they are just budded out nicely for planting..  I have a space in the garden that is just growing weeds at the moment..  I am going to make some hills and see what late planted spuds will do..  just for an experiment..

I mowed the grass again yesterday..  it was getting long again..  I am sorry for you "dry" folks.

It would be nice to not mow the grass, but not because of drought.  Actually, I enjoy riding on the mower..  If I was pushing a mower, there would be a lot less lawn around here for sure..

have 8 new keets..  I see a couple more empty shells in the tray.. must be 2 more in the bottom of the bator..

Marlene called me yesterday..  she sold all 50 of the keets that I took to her last week.. she needs more.. I told her she could have all I got..

Annie sold 11 roosters yesterday..  all young ones ..  the guy said he would be back in a couple of weeks for more..   He has been here before for ducks..  said he would like to buy some of the adult guineas..  If the price is right, he can have them all..  I can always get more.

Marlene is saving more eggs for me,,  and Annie just ordered a dozen purple guinea eggs from a hatchery..  she got a note that said they do not raise the birds,, they have sub-contractors who handle them,,  they will call when the eggs are on the way..

did I mention that I did spray the idlers with WD40 and the squeak went away right  now..

It must be getting light out.. can't tell from down here in the dungeon,,  Going to go till up some in the garden before it gets hot out there..

Morning allfrow.gif

Unkadan~ gotcha !  yuckyuck.gif but a gaggle of girls are not bi***hy, we are just sometimes very "vocal" big_smile.png

TerriO~ congrats! what a pretty presentation!

Cindlady~had to read Dan's post twice myself!  Hadn't had my 2nd cuppa yet caf.gif

CC and others~ so sorry for your lack of rain sad.png .  Can't believe how much rain we've been getting up here!  Such a blessing after years of dry summers it is so nice to not have to water every day. I                         just can't believe the stress is so bad your trees are dying!

Congrats to all on the hatches, I love reading about all the babies but it keeps getting me thinking about next spring.  Hmmmm, wonder which way I could go to expand my new coop?   cool.png

Ok, caffeine has kicked in so now I need to get weedin' so the gardens look pretty for my company this weekend.
