DrH, the head of the company is a die-hard Repub...... just an FYI. wink.png

I called the dispatch last night, left messages..... waited up until after 11..... nobody has shown up yet. What the heck!

At least they guy who came over last night was all smiles and was looking at this like some kind of joke..... the first cop was all hard-***** and a jerk. I hate it when cops have to act like arrogant pricks.... so since you have illegal 'ducks' I am going to treat you like you are running a meth lab in your basement. DUH! I have enough issues keeping my wacky weed farm under wraps......  lau.gif

I should motivate, all I have done so far today is drink coffee and watch Dog the Bounty Hunter on Netflix..... at least I just got my jeans in the wash and I have a notion to take a shower.... then I have to go shopping. Lovely. I hope I can drag the DH out to the lake this afternoon so he can 'take a load off'..... he works too hard!

Later all!

lau.gif Bf4me I'll bet your a handful! Wonder where your kids get it from? Thanks Apyl for the pic it took me back to the early 60's when we lived in town and it rained so hard that the storm sewers backed up and my step brother and I decided to play in it. WE had a GREAT time until mom hosed us off outside can still remember screamin at how cold the water was. We're 5 mo's apart in age. Other than that we were perfect lil angels! hide.gif Can't believe we were never culled. Shoulda been! Another time mom chased us down thru the neighborhood park with a laundry stirring bat [old school]. Good thing she had short legs. Don't remember what we did but says to this day if she would have caught she da killed us.

Can't scratch the itch inside of my head, even though there's plenty of room for my hand.

Hi all! frow.gif

Happy Sunday everyone.  Sorry for all you still not getting rain.  I keep seeing all the horror stories on the news.  Crops cooking, wells drying up, just can't believe it.  I know we will be buying all our hay this week, hopefully enough to get us thru winter before the price goes thru the roof hide.gif .  Going to grab up whole wheat and corn too and store it.  Last year's crop prices still aren't that bad, but I know if I wait til fall I'd probably have to take out a mortgage to buy it!ep.gif

The saga of the Broody Butt continues.  Great all day, early evening, into the coop and right into the nest again barnie.gif.  Drug her off the nest this morning so she could eat, etc. before the yard fills up with all our family, and dogs (yes, that's plural) arrive.  They are all good, silly pups but they are dogs so the girls will be in their run and able to go hide in the coop whenever needed roll.png  The kids have all been warned they will face the wrath of Grandma if anybody or anything harasses the chooks in this heat!rant.gif As for Broody Butt?  She can just stay broody for now.  It is just going to be too hot to stress her.  If she's still broody when the weather breaks, maybe then.

Well, the gardens are watered, the house is clean, the coop cleaned, the chooks are good,  the potato salad, baked beans, fruit salad are all done.  NOW, I am going to enjoy a cup of coffee before the chaos ensues!

Speaking of abused horses . . . There are a few horses on the corner of hwy 8 and 46 just north of Amery that are living in a mud pit, their shelter has collapsed, they are thin and if I remember right the fencing was less than safe. I'm going to try to get pictures and advice on how to report them. I heard someone mention the other day that they called a local rescue group but nothing has been done.

Ugh justa quick post to say we lost a little young silkie roo to a coon last night. We are still trying to determine if it got locked out of coop and was hiding at lock down or if coon got in. Either way, we spent a sweltering morning fixing all entry points for coop. Especially since we will be gone for a week. So it is now war with the coons...they are not entering traps with mrhmellows anymore, so have to look at other methods...bummer. Kids are sad, and mom and dad are just to from working outside the past few hours

Good Morning everyone !!

Had a good nights sleep, in the car last night. We went to town for the shrimp special and haystacks and when we got home I put the seat back and fell asleep. Woke several times but to lazy to go in the house !!!! Now sitting in front of the fan nagg-ed. Drinking my cuppa and trying to motivate myself.

On the chicken front, I have 16 chicks just hatched (was 17 but lost one) They look to be mostly Black Australorps. Got 3 doz eggs from the neighbors flock. They have mostly BA hens, and a few BR and BO hens and a BA roo. The BR and BO are older hens.

I'm keeping them separate from my eggs so I can tell them apart. So far looks like I have about 8-10 of my eggs hatching in a separate bator. I see one paint silkie in there.

Then of course I have more eggs that are due in a few days up til a week or so. Dang OM DH, he is the one that wanted more chicks. I am really getting tired of the feed bill.

VW, do you have beef or dairy cows? Why the hay? I forget !!

And speaking of cows. We were at a place Friday that had one of those humped back cows with the horns. One of the horns was broke off and had black smelly stuff on it and the flys were all over it.

Does anyone know if/or how dangerous this could be for the animal. I talked to my neighbor who has limousine's and she said it can spread down the horn and actually kill the poor guy?????

Any thoughts?

I also got 5 guinea eggs from these people to hatch. They are not pearls but dark, ???? on color but will add them to my flock. I love guineas. She had some I think cayuga ducks (black that I could of had but don't want to start another breed)

Ok, well I had better get to sending this before it is afternoon.

Oh and BBP, I thought of you when Bl4 mentioned netflix. There is a horse flix out there. The website is www.giddyupflix.com I was a member until DH lost his debit card and I never renewed. I think I'll do that this week.

They rent out dvd's all horse related. I think you and your family would really enjoy it. All sorts of training dvd's and I'm sure dvd's about birthing etc. Check it out.

Bl4............ Good job at keeping cool when the cops knocked at your door. We don't need two of us in the slammer.

I called and talked to someone at the barn yesterday about the rescue horse Cody. He had his feed done and the farrier said he had nice hard hooves. He is slowly gaining a bit of weight and the vet said when he builds up some more muscle mass he can go out with the herd. In the mean time he is building up quite the bill for the owners. Now wonder how much they will take for him if/when that ever happens. Still don't know when her court date is.

BBP it is hard to get the sheriffs department to do anything. I was really shocked (but glad) that they actually took Cody the day they went there. If those horses have food and water and I guess even just trees for shade their hands may be tied.

I'd start with the sheriffs office. Even if it's just a phone call giving the address. Have other people call as well. There is strength in numbers !!! Good Luck. Keep us posted. Between all of us on here we can save alot of horses in WI !!!! Oh and donkeys.

Speaking of donkeys I see there is stallion standard donkey on CL. Sure wish he was spotted. I'd get him in a heart beat and breed my two Jen's !!!. Did I ever tell ya all that I love donkeys ???

TO Congrats on the wins, yes pictures would be nice. So how many entered.... 1?  lol Just kidding !!

Doc... I still love you even if you never told me I was cute !!!!!

Sorry all of you that didn't get rain. We got it because we had some of our hay baled and while we were gone Friday it got rained on. TG there are only 169 bales and looks salvagable because I have so many mouths to feed.

Oh and welcome any Newbies...... Don't let any of these strang people fool ya........ CC, Tiki and I are the Bestest......LOL

Ok, didn't I say I was going to be sending this off ???? Bf4m if you weren't so cute you'd be included !!!!!

Oh and there are others, like VickyW, Bl4, MLH, HNR(hens and roos), DAS, and all the other ladies on here.

It's the guys you have to look out for...... Jimbo, Drha, Unkadan........... Now Bigz and Ken are alright (Ken only cause your a preacher !!  LOL)
