WET evening all!! Yep! I said Wet!!! WE got us some rain!!! Whoo Whoo!!!

Dh had to go over yonder into Milton to the plant to pick up some dog food for a customer.  We were joking that the only time it will rain was when he was loading it and the rain will stop just as soon as he is done.  Well, that joke came true! It rained and I mean poured the whole time he and the plant guy were loading the dog food and then as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot atthe plant it stopped.  Of course the side of Milton we were on it rained . When we got to the other side to catch a bite of dinner it was bone dry.  We got home and it was spitting here. I jumped from the car to go get Ben and bring him in and it was like a sauna!! Then as soon as I got him in his carrier it started to rain. The sky is rumbling right now.

Judge- Feel free to call me MLH. Everyone here does!big_smile.png I have a real name but it's the same as BigFam's and when people type Heather I have to read twice before I realize it's not me they are talking to!! LOL!!  I have a very complicated Blueberry jam recipe.  Have you pen and paper all ready? Here it goes.

1) Run to the store and get a bunch of boxes of Sure-Jell pectin for jam making. I use the yellow full sugar recipe box and not the pink low sugar one.

2) Open the box and read the directions for Blueberry Jam making. If for some odd reason it's not on the directional sheet let me know.

3) Make the jam. I use a blender on pulse to chop up the fruit. I'm lazy that way and plus my potato masher sucks....

4)Enjoy the jam!!!

I used store bough blueberries since they were on sale and I wanted to try a different type of jam this year. Last year I made peach and strawberry.  This year I've made peach and blueberry. I'm toying with making some raspberry jelly this year but we'll see how much room I have to store it all.

CS-Yeah! You got and egg!!!!!!!

Well as promised here is a pic of Ben.  The last y'all saw him he was this:

005.JPG

That pic was taken after his bath to get all the sticky crud off of his fluffy self!

So now here is Ben as of this afternoon:

023.JPG

Here is another pic. This is a really suckie picture of him since it shows a spot where his hackle feathers are coming in, but I have to post it because it's hilarious and mainly because of the chicken face in front of the camera shot. That face belongs to Lavender. The Blue Andalusian I got from H&R. She is very "helpful" in all things and like to pick at my jeans. The black bird behind Ben is the other Blue Andie I got from H&R.

I came home from work today to find 2 of my ducklings missing. I went to give the horses some treats in their feed pans, but had gp empty the water out from all the rain we got this morning. There was a duck leg in one of them! Had to be a coon, right?

BBP- If you have a coon out during the day there's something terribly wrong with it!

MLH- Well I am right by you! We are right down the street from gibbs lake. And you should see my trees bending xD

Big Fam must be outside dancing naked in the rain!!!!!!!!!!!

I see a LOT of rain drenching out Southern half....   wee.gif

Spoke with the interim City Administrator today. What a stroke of luck! His daughter lives in Madison and has CHICKENS!!!!! yesss.gif He was ALSO on the City Board up in Wausau when they drafted their chicken ordinance!!!! I am so relieved!!! So, the game plan is that I go to the meeting on the 23rd, let the board know my situation and ask them how to proceed with whatever committee I need to deal with directly.

And of course the poor ducks have to be relocated to my in-laws until I can get these people to change their minds.....

Slow and steady here..... slow and steady.....

BBP-Sorry to hear about your ducks....during the day? hmmm Hawk maybe....

Well shooooot Twizz! Your kinda like around the corner from me! I had no idea you were that close! If you take a look see at Albion I'm right next to the park there, kitty corner from the Albion Academy Historical Museum.  Right on the corner.  Our house was once the tea house for the Albion Academy and Normal Institute.  Apparently our home was called the Blue Parrot or Green Parrot and had either  blue roof or a green roof depending on which of my neighbors tell the history.

YEAH BL4!!! That is awesome news!!!clap.gif ya.gif

We actually have RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Whoo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!   ya.gif   wee.gif    celebrate.gif      bow.gif

It was really dark down here for quite a while, with thunder & lightening all around us but naturally not here. I went out to lock up the chickies & batten down the hatches just in case, then I sat outside for a long time watching a family of squirrels & a bunny. We had sprinkles, but nothing impressive. A few minutes after coming in, it started coming down pretty good. Now it can just keep this up for the next few days.  wink.png   The radar looks more impressive than reality, though, but I'll still take it!

You're forgiven, Vicki!  wink.png

Cind, I hope you set some buckets out. I should talk: I forgot.  roll.png    barnie.gif

Well, back to reading. I'm a few pages behind.
