You all know from my stories I have my two big chickens go out during the day. Well, this mornin before I got them out, it started snowing.
I carried Red out to the pen, so she was ok. Thought I left Fussy in the house, but she must have sneaked out the door as it was closing, so...she got to see what was in store for her. Took me 20 minutes to finally shush her in the pen. sheesh. Had to chase her with the fearsome broom, and apparently THAT was scarier then the sky falling white.
So...this evening, I decided to get creative. It snowed almost ALL day and the snow got pretty deep. So...this evenin, I took the dirty towels and clothes from the bathroom, and made a "path" from the door of the chicken pen to the sidewalk. It was hilarious. One green towel, one black t-shirt, one red striped pajama top....
But, it WORKED. Well it worked for ONE chicken. Red decided she would try it, bless her heart. Fussy just came into the coop after I opened it to check for an egg, and let me pick her up. They were VERY upset by the white stuff, wanted to play in the yard but where WAS the yard???, I could almost hear them say. They did NOT want to come in cuz I had tracked snow up on the porch, guess I needed the "path" to come clear to the door.
