I have been searching for Blue wheaten Ameraucana eggs and I finally found a breeder I am comfortable with and I am on the list for 3dz eggs this spring! I am so excited.

Here is the breeder info if anyone else is interested.

They also sell and ship chicks.

Beautiful, Beautiful birds!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you tell me what their personalities are like ?
I can see why you are so excited- It is tempting to think of peeps in the grayness of winter!

It is pretty wild around here. I try to stay out of the way.

Yes they are standards. I do not know of their personalities yet as I do not have any but perhaps Cynthia will enlighten us with her experiences with them, or any one else with pure breed Amer.

StormStryder Poultry  also breeds Wheatens and Blue Wheatens. They're the friendliest birds I've got!

Here's their pretty rooster Mac:

And a lovely hen of theirs

The hen in my avatar is a wheaten pullet. I think they ship chicks also. Sweetest birds ever.

They live very close to me.  I might try to get some in the spring.  I think they have big prize winning show birds.   cool

Hi herechickchick,
I am proud that you have found true Blue Wheaten Ameraucana chickens from a quality breeder.  As a memeber of the ABC (Ameraucana Breeders Club), a part of what we do is to attempt to educate the public about the ameraucana breed as compared to the EE (easter eggers) that are of mixed generations from hatcheries.

The correct spelling for the name of this breed is Ameraucana, not to be confused with hatchery spellings in reference to their EE chickens or any other variation of the blue egg laying chickens.

Please feel free to visit the Ameraucana website at
http://www.ameraucana.org/

I am in hope that herechickchick or a moderator can go into these posts and edit correctly the spelling that represents this fine breed.
On behalf of all ABC members (Ameraucana Breeders Club) Thank You Very Much     smile
