Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Yes! I had a great time! Hopefully we can all get together again by summer, lol.
My family and I go to my hubby's cabin in Haneyville the week of July 4th. I've already said something to April about getting together sometime that week. It would be nice if you could join us! I thought of going to Bald Eagle State Park for a day? About half way between for you all and where the cabin is located.

Cars, monster trucks, tools, engines, mud, fishing....

Must get mind away from women talking about their hormones!

I can't hear my roos from my room unless the window's open. I pity my son. He's right beside them. No wonder he doesn't sleep in.
As for my sleep... I just love to sleep. My dreams are far, far better than my real life. Even the nightmares are better. At least there is something going on. I usually don't go to bed until 1-2am, too.
I am up by 8, but I don't hear the roosters either. If a window is open, I can hear them, but not that loud. Now when there is a rooster in quarantine ... That lasted one night. I worked hard in the sleet/snow/rain and wind the next day to get the new coop finished! I SHOULD be getting another new coop tomorrow. Just in time. I see 2 chicks are roos. The older group will be going in the new coop immediately. The younger group will be moving soon after. If they crow before then, they will die.
Found my missing 50 chicks.

At least you aren't going crazy!

So, my God daughters stopped by last night to see my daughter for her B-day. 1st time they saw my birds. Their mom told me that the youngest is thinking about raising chickens for FFA. She has a year or 2 before she has to do the official project, but they were thinking about getting started this summer so they are not jumping into it when they need to do the project. Their plan is to have 2 to 4 chickens in a chicken tractor. I am going to get them to get on BYC so they can ask their questions instead of going through me. Any suggestions for me to help them get started?
Explain chicken math.

I get the hair thing. IDK what to do about it!

Okay, we have bears here too. I just hope they never get into the coops.

I have 3 roos IN the basement right under my bedroom. My banty boys haven't made it outside yet. I have 3 roos, 7 hens & 11 quail still working on an exit to the outside world. Then there's the free range roos: the banty roosts on the back porch & the LF roosts on the side porch (right outside my bedroom window) & the other LF boy in the coop right outside the bathroom window. Nothing like waking up to the crowing of 6 roos & 3 little quail boys. (at 3am!!!)

Cannot wait!!!

It's so nice out today! I kicked all but the 1 week and under birds outside to range. There are now 60+ birds roaming the yard destroying every bug that buzzes by and every dandilion that dare grow where they roam!

Isn't it wonderful?? Lol! I have been cleaning and rearranging brooder babies and my blue mottled quad is out of the basement and going in to their own coop! Happy, happy, happy! Soon the black mottled will be old enough to join them!
