Woo HOOOO the pictures loaded! Run is 4 x 8, covered, coop is 3 x 4. there are 2 three foot roosts. No nest boxes are this is a grow out coop. I've got 5 in there now, 2 are bantams. I am going to hang a feeder and water under the coop.
Beautiful job! Great grow out coop! And will be great for you to have available as an isolation area or first aid hut if needed! Looks like it would work for any of those jobs...
Well done!

Okay, we had an organizational meeting for the Lebanon Valley Poultry Fanciers. We are going to have another meeting next month to chose officers, by-laws, and even more fun stuff! If anyone is interested in joining please PM me you email address. You can live in any county it is not exclusive, and you can be youth, individual, or family memberships. We are planning on having a show in fall of 2014, and having speakers that are the top of the field pros. I am very excited to belong to this poultry club, you don't have to show your poultry, we are going to try very hard to encompass all aspects of poultry from the backyard egg plucker, to the person breeding to the SOP!

Yes, they do. I didn't know they made adult ones.

I guess baby peepers is kind of disturbing if they are toms (lol, peeping toms). So are the adult ones. Unless they are paying for it (peep shows)!

Bobbie it don't exist until we see pics right???? LOL!!!
Come get some duckies, why didn't you keep any, don't you like ducks?

You need to stop doing that. This is the 3rd time you've called Blarney Bobbie and I am sitting here doing the "wha..huh?" face. My name is Bobbie, too.

That's great, Heather!

Hey Blarney, where did you get your MFC stock from? And do you have any juveniles for sale (I need a new boy) if they aren't closely related to mine?

Good job!! Beautiful crappie!

He was proud as a peacock!! He's grabbed my phone and shown darn near everyone his catch...
I could not fit the geese in the car, so I only took my 4 KC girls, 6 ducklings, my three Delaware hens and my mottled Bantam Cochin pair. We did not buy anything! I wanted doves, goslings and he wants a Mandarin drake. Nothing made it back in the car! Whoot! Happy with myself on that. I was guilt tripped into the 50/50 drawing - I bought a single ticket. Wouldn't you know it, I (or as Dewey would like to say, we) won. Almost all of it went right back into chicken stuff (meds, meal worms, feed and oyster shell).

It was great talking to BirdsByGavin and Cskotec today! Great chicken day - glad I went because it got my mind off everything for awhile.

(No more chick casualties today, either!)
Was great talking to you and Cskotec too! Glad you didn't lose any more chicks too!

My Patches. I gave her a new wrap after a bath. She is not a fan of being a one leg bandit.. But its only for a bit!
You both look oh so happy in the pic....lol
Pics during the babies time outside.

They all look like they enjoyed their time outside.
Very nice!

Had a great weekend (for the most part). Had a great time talking with Reyvaughn and cskotec on Sat. My plan of going with $10 or less worked, no new birds and the flock is holding steady at 46 chicks and 4 ducklings. Although I did nearly break down and go to get more money for the button quail, and Bob Whites. Gavin had a great time playing with Reyvaughn's kids, after he looked in every cage 5 or more times, caught every feather he could, and ran for an attendant EVERY time a bunny/duckling/chick ended up somewhere is shouldn't have been. No new chick or duckling storied this weekend, other than me not being able to sleep and cleaning the brooding room at 0200.
The only bad things this weekend were Gavin and I were both sick Sunday evening.
Hope everyone has a great week.

blarney, i love the grow out pen, might have to steal some ideas there...are those roost painted tobacco lathes ??and speaking of paint, is it safe to paint inside the coop,,how long you wait to put them in after painting ???

Sally i am also over ran with duckies and plenty more in bators,,,sorry can not help you out on that one....speaking of ducks i seen pics of a duck called a hookbill duck,, they are surely a little different, almost thought about getting some just because they are different and not everyone has them,,and the story with them says they are muted..

hubby bought me 2 large calf hutches, i plan on using these as summer time pens, not sure they will work for winter though,,,,hubby seems to think they would be fine in winter if i put straw bales around the outside....thoughts please..
