take a good look and make sure she is not egg bound........
What breed?? I have a few that went broody before ever laying that first egg,,(But i am a broody magnet,,,always have them year round).

with the muddy weather lately you might consider cocci also...

how do I check for her to be egg bound? She had a little bit of runny poop and keeps shaking her head. I checked to see if her crop was swollen but nothing felt lumpy. Her ears, eyes and mouth seem ok. This is all new to me and Idon't know what to do. She hasn't been making much noise and keeps closing her eyes and her mouth is open a little. Not panting though. This is very odd for her because she is definitely the leader of this flock.

I was up at 330am , looked in on the eggs, and BAM...there it is..now, not just 5 mins. ago, I went to look in on them again and I can hear it chirping inside it's shell !!!!!!

I was talking to it through the bator and it kept chirping!!....NOW I know why it it SOOO hard NOT to open it up and help them !!! I am letting it do it's thing, at least I know it's is still here

We have some wild raspberries growing throughout our barberry-bushes, we are going to try to go through the bushes and find out where they are coming out and maybe we can dig a bunch out to add to our "patch"!! Todd picked enough for me to make homemade fruit-glaze (approx.4 cups), for pies and other desserts. I just freeze it until I need it...I added strawberries and blue berries for a "triple-berry" glaze. Really good!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not seeing any blood in the stool. I have her a warm bath and have her separated from the others. I felt in her vent and didn't feel anything. Of course I don't know how fart to go in there. Ugh. I am seriously upset about this. I don't know who Heather is......I am gracious for any advice.
