Gavin was so excited today (ok technically yesterday), he collects the eggs and came running in holding a brown one, then about 1/2 and hour later he comes running into the house again with a pinkish/cream colored egg. He's been asking every day when the reds and tetras would lay, so you can imagine how excited and happy he was when he found them.
Got a picture of our newest duck additions:
Elvis (furthest from me) and Priscilla
They are settling in wonderfully. Although they have no contact with the other ducks (or the chickens) they can see everyone and are constantly trying to get out of the quarantine run. I have a bad feeling this is going to be a losing battle, for me. It was with the mallards and unknown cross we picked up about a month ago, stinkers were only in the quarantine run for a week before they managed to escape.
Thanks Beaglady for such lovely birds, and it was great meeting you! We barely got over the mountain before Gavin asked when we could come down again lol.
And thanks for your lovely additions Motorcyclechick and it was nice meeting you and your hubby. They're settling in the brooding room right now, since we only have one quarantine pen right now. And the pickles tasted great!
