I have several possibilities, I have a really nice SLW pullet. I have a super looking Black Australorp pullet. I have some nice blue and black Ameraucana hens. One of my black Sumatra hens is looking really fantastic. I have a black orp pullet that is stunning. She is 100% english. I don't know how she would do. I also have some mottled cochin bantam pullets, and cockerels that are pretty nice. I have to decide how much cage space I will have. I want to save some room for purchases too! I also might take some to sell. Who knows for sure. I sure don't.
The national ARBA show is going to be at the farm show complex this year Oct.17-23. I will be shopping there also. I am looking for 1 or 2 more does before spring for bunny breeding. Also I am looking for a Nigerian doe. Hopefully with blue eyes, or just one blue eye. My Chelsea is going to be 18 soon. I want Princess to have another friend now, before any mourning would occur.
I also need to find out if there is a rabbit 4-H club in my home county or if I need to cross over to Lebanon for that too. Nina is really starting to like 4-H. I don't think she understood it the first couple of years, the is learning the pledge too! Its so cute :-)
I also want to say that I am in love with the food I am feeding my birds and its not breaking the pocket book. The last feed that I found that I liked was $25 per 50lbs. I am now using Brown's Mill for about 6 months. I love it, so do the chickens. It has yeast in it, so fermenting is easy. I highly recommend them. They have many choices and do deliver, far away too! I have a mixed flock, and they have a great variety of feeds for all of my birds. I feed my layers/breeders turkey and game bird pellets to ensure better fertility and hatchability. The most expensive one that I get is the Hi-Energy grower finisher. Its usually around $15 per 50lb bag. Minimum order is 500 lbs. I use a 50lb bag every other day. I have 1 turkey, 2 geese, 15 ducks, and 75-100 chickens.
