Hey guys, I am 562 posts behind

. I've been so busy with college, ugh.

But I do have some important questions for you guys, and I hope you will help me out!
I stuck my hand in the coop this morning before the chicks left and it was not warmer than outside!! Oh no!

So:

1. Would it be a good idea to take an old comforter and cut it up and use it as insulation for the inside of the coop?

2. We have a window that is about 1ft x 1 ft (actual size may be more). I don't want to cover it up because all I have been reading is about how important ventilation is. BUT I do want to do something so that there is no direct wind getting on the birds, because they roost pretty level with the window. Ideas? I was thinking kind of like a slanted wood thing... I cannot describe it.

3. They are 11 weeks now! So transitioning to clucking. However, I am hearing some raspy voices and some sneezing. Could the rasp be from 'puberty'? And do chickens get head colds in the winter?

Brittany, she is 11 yrs old, her normal weight was 158, she was weighed at 118 last week at the vet, so we're concerned. She is skin and bones and I like how her 'super hero cape' covers that up.. Congrats on the puppies, I didn't realize you could breed Merle, what color are you breeding her to?

Wow she must have had some euro in her to be that big! Storm is about 115 but she doesnt have euro in her she is really tall tho. You can breed a merle we arent breeding for show. Just for pets. AKC doesnt reconize this color in the ring thats all. We breed with a har. Based on their three generations it was okayed by the vet. So we should get blues, blacks, merles, hars, and a i am hoping for a brindle. Storm has brindle in her lines. They breed Boomer to another har about a year and a half ago and the puppies were BEAUTIFUL!!!! In the pictures the dad is the one sitting down and the other one standing was a pup from his litter. The other picture of the pup was another one from they litter! Her eyes are so pretty and she has kept them to. It just happened this past weekend so we will not know for sure if we are going to have puppies for another few weeks. Both of the pups have great personalities and are really loving and sweet dogs. So they should have a very good displacement.

4yr Dane, Grandmother, 8yr Dane, 3yr Fluffy English Mastiff, Dad. Only one missing is the 11yr Pug. This picture doesn't do the mastiff justice. He is a barrel with legs. The Dane on the left got hit by a car on Xmas. He walked away with a bloody lip. The Jaguar had a couple $1000 damage.

GORGEOUS pups! I don't know if Peach is European or not (she's always seemed American to me) ;). We got her from a top breeder as we wanted a dog with good bloodlines, all the testing and health checks, we lost our previous Dane at 7 years and do not want to loose another dog so young. Peach was the largest in her litter and the largest female I've ever seen, she outweighed her mother by 8 pounds.

..too stinkin' CUTE!!...such wonderful looking babies!!

**Heather- Wasn't too sure about the paste. I will probably try that. I already have the Wazine, but I want to be positive they get "the dose", as apposed to the water method. I will De-worm them when we get back...well, they don't actually have worme right now..but, better safe than sorry... Thank you for all the info. We did notice also that TSC didn't have much in the cases...or the Fridge area.. I DID find out that they have the yearly dog booster " 7-way", we have been trying to find that in the single doses ( without ordering multiples) for the Pom. I don't mind giving him his boosters myself...just like to have the 'right-stuff'. We will be in the Lancaster CO. area for the next couple days (drs. apts.)..so will be closer to TSC ,other stores and alot of you all

Yay more Dane Lovers!!!! And yeah thats the only thing i dont like about the breed. 7 years is a common age. But from what I have read since we are more educated on health issues and better diets they are living longer and longer....Mine is my baby! and I know I am going to be crushed when she goes. And euro's are more barrel like and bigger boned. They "american" breed is leaner and can be taller. We think storm was one of the smaller of her litter. Her dad was 160 I think and her mom was around 120-130. I cant remeber. Great dogs tho I dont think I want to ever have another breed! :)

Great looking dogs!!! Love the Mastiff......We had a springer spaniel (male- "Tracker") that went 75 pounds!!! The other males we've had went around 50lbs... Never saw one that big and probably never will again, he was awesome..great gun dog, alot of fun to hunt over...Now happy with the 5 lb. Pomeranian
wink.png
..who is almost always on a leash because he would most likely be the 'loser' in any fight..

....$1000 damage??OMG....and only a bloody lip..wow, tough guy!!!
