I took some pictures.
Here are some pictures of my window "shutters" As you know I am not a carpenter!
Its so very apparent when you see how NOT LEVELED my coop is............but it all works just fine!
I used hooks that people often hang coffee mugs from so that I could take the shutter off in the summer. It also allows me to tip it open for daytime or nice weather air and light.
Lisa...you have done such an impressive job turning that dresser into a coop...wow! I love the shutters! ...I hope your girl is okay...sometimes it doesn't take much for them to get frost bite, it is all about the moisture ( what I've read anyway),...maybe she just had an argument with another girl. Hopefully all is good.

And to whoever got Georgia (my ipad won't let me go back a page right now to look), she's a beaut! Congrats!,
Updates to my coop:
Hardware cloth underneath the coop, and nest box attached. Also made a nifty entrance ramp using some bamboo I had on hard, it's not attached yet, but will be next year; no sense in letting it get weathered over the winter. Aside from painting and a little detail work here and there, I'm pretty much done for the year, and will put the run up in the spring.
AWESOME!!!!...see, we don't have to be carpenters!!..it looks like you on your way to becoming one though!!! Great way to handle the 'nest box 'situation, looks very sturdy! Now you get to take all winter to study and prepare for the big test in the spring!...hey, been there-done that!

Thanks you all for the dental advice. I skipped the cloves and went straight for the Vicodin. It seems to have worked.
yeah...that works too......careful with those.....
** thank you all for the encouragement!! I think there are alot of creative and resourceful peeps on this thread!!...These chickens are very lucky to have such caring & attentive owners!!
I hope everyone has a good night...bundle up, it's gonna get cold!!... a little reminder... if you have outside hoses, you may want to turn off & drain them....we remembered just before coming in for the night!...it is supposed to drop to 27-ish..it is only 30 now, so it may get colder than anticipated...
