I have CCL, WFS and serama in the bator. I didnt set any mix layers this time around I have locals buying them for hatching on their own, so I dont mess with hatching them. Sure beats selling eating eggs lol,.

we have a 'heated' porch..had the windows replaced in there and everything...never, and i mean never had anything(plants) die out there because it was too cold..well, this morning all of my house plants but 2 , (there are hanging)..died..all of them,

they were all given to me when we moved back in here last February...they were awesome too...crap...
The only rooms i could put anything in to "grow" would be the living rm...maybe the finished side of the basement, it's cool down there, but warm enough to dry our clothes while they hang...i have a row light too..hmmmm, now i am thinking, always a BAD idea

LMP: Dead plants totally suck. Maybe a small space heater out there would be enough to keep everything alive.

As for my pullet's black feet... no clue. This is the first time I've had a bird with anything more than the tips of the comb get it.

, there is a heater in there...the radiator...hahhaa, the furnace doesn't get turned up enough...hahahha, must be a guy thing...hahaha
We heat mostly with the wall-propane heaters...they are great..then we have to turn up the boiler-furnace for subsidizing (keep pipes flowing) and for hot water...so we have quick showers around here in the winter, but it works well in the summer heat, nothing like a cool shower.
**keep us posted on the condition of her.(feet)...would like to know how things go...sorry it is at her expense though

got Christmas put away till next year, My first born turns is turning 30... We are headed off to her party. Hope every one and their various menageries stay warm n safe tonight!
