Enough people seem to go to Agway. I think you guys can help me.
I was on the Agway website, and saw that there are three kinds of layer feeds, and three or four kinds of turkey feed. Why??
As for the turkey feed, I am lost. One turkey grower listed feeding guidelines for all but turkeys. One starter (starter!) said to use for turkeys over (not until) 18 weeks.
What do you guys use?

I use a 22% turkey mix that my mill makes until they go to the aduly pen & then they get a low soy special layer mix that I have my mill make that is about 19-20% protien.

The turkey food advice is for the broad breasted "broiler type" turkeys. That food is often loaded with antibiotics and very high protein to force fast weight gain. That's not the way I'd like to raise turkeys. I would look for feed without medication, and certainly no higher than 24% protein, even for turkeys. I use 18% pellets and am happy with that for turkeys and chickens.

For turkey specific advice, there is a very active turkey thread with people who have way more experience than I do. It's a interesting thread, with lots of pictures.

Fertile emu eggs for sale or trade, it's almost the end of the laying season, this is the first year my emus have started laying and I have had very high hatch rates.

Asking $40 an egg or 10 eggs for $30 each, open to all trades as well, let me know what you have.
I'd love to try, but have no use for an emu. But it would be fun!

Did you ever price a emu chick? they DO have a use

I heard this was lots of fun last year! Why oh why must it be on the same day as the Bayard Taylor Memorial Library's benefit day again this year?

Is there anyone near Quakertown making a trip north anytime soon?! I found some Bourbon Red turkeys I would like to have, but I can't justify a 4hr round trip to get them. I thought maybe someone down that way could pick them up and meet me with them if they were already heading north. I live in Benton, PA, so pretty much anyplace between 11/15 and 476 I can do.

Do any of you feed organic? I'm trying to find somewhere more local to get organic feed since the stuff I found and liked had to be shipped here from Washington State :/ I'd really rather not have to pay to ship feed across country but I want to stick to organics.

Dream:

A few days ago, (I think it was Silkie Sensations) listed some custom feed she was having a mill make for her....you might be able to do the same...not sure if that fits your situation.
