hmmmm...need some time for that one...how has the move treated you? You had that big garage that you were looking to convert into an all-purpose animal house...how is that taking shape?....thought that was a great idea!
Hey! Why is it okay for her to convert her garage, but not me?!
Awesome little one's !! I have not a clue on their sex, but they are very cute!!
And I got to see them in person!
Stake, I am still blushing.
Ok so i put some feed in a bucket and fill it up with water, i then let it sit for a while and occasionally stir it, then when all the water is absorbed i fill it up again until it is a few inches above the feed, i keep doing this until no more will be absorbed, (still occasionally stirring) i then leave it for 24 hours and it will be ready to use? How much do i use per chicken i have 13 so how much would i use
In the beginning, they will eat a lot more while their bodies adjust to the feed. Then you should see the feed bill be cut in half.
Mine only get the fermented feed & table scraps. Everyone has a different feeding schedule but I really would try not to leave fermented feed sit in the bowls overnight. Aslo, you don't want to use metal bowls with the fermented feed. It causes a chemical reaction. The rubber livestock bowls are great for fermented feed. You also can't put it in a gravity style feeder. It will stick in it & not fall down through.
I will take pics of my set-up tomorrow...I use a dollar tree plastic bucket and a plastic strainer spoon. I started my FF with 4 cups feed, then a added a "glug" of ACV with mother into that then added the warm water till the feed was covered. STir..and let set for about 24-48 hours...it will bubble and look like it is doing 'something'..hahahaha...then I usually have like a loaf on the top that I can just scoop off, sometimes it doesn't do that, cause it was probably too cold... then I use the strainer spoon..let the liquid drain back into the feed bucket and done. Feed birds....I do add one-two scoops of feed Back into the FF bucket to keep things fed...if it needs more water to cover, then I just add warm water to cover feed. **Everything Silkie has said....There are a bunch of people on here that have info. at the bottoms of their quotey things that you can just click on and it will take you to the "how to make FF" ,I do not..yet...Motorcycle chick is one that has this 'thread ' thing you can use.... Does anyone know what I just said?! hahhahaha..anyway, someone with more intelligence than I will explain. I am very tired and must go to bed..goodnight all- catch you laters!
I do? I might. I have been doing it a long time.
