LizardCat- hey, I found the blog that has the "layered-gardening"..*.Homestead Honey....This is for any & everyone..there is so much info in some of these blogs!

My niece is trying "lasagna" gardening on her small plot. Interesting. Also saves me dragging the rototiller to their place.

Every few weeks I get an email asking for another bag of rabbit poo. That's easy to do, I get at least a feed bag full every week. Between them and my chickens, I have a heck of a compost pile. Yes, I know I can use it straight on my garden, but soon if be growing in pure poo!

Hi, I am in York county..does anyone know a good local place to get hatching eggs?

how many do you want. Plenty of people here have them. Wingstone and I are both in MountJoy are and can probably come up with some barnyard mixes. I also have Swedish flower hens and orpingtons of mixed colors.

There is a hatchery in York springs that sells eggs, I believe.

I the gardens topic, I just went out to check on mine. I'm SO excited! The potatoes have started growing in the feed bags, the onions are going crazy, tomatoes and peppers are still alive and growing, peas are going crazy and I think the spinach and lettuce are staying to come in (all a newbie trying to figure out what is and isn't a weed lol). I even saw that we have at least 3 sweet corn seedlings starting to come up :) the broccoli and cauliflower. ... I'm not sure if I see seedlings or a bunch of weeds lol and the green beans, I may have to start over with. For now, I'm going to go out and pour a few more green beans and peas in since I have still have some room :) still have to get the carrots, pumpkins, and zucchini planted. ... somewhere and waiting on the cucumbers to show themselves.

That is exciting! We were supposed to do our garden today but the rain cancelled that. I can't wait for the garden!

The disadvantage of not having cable is that I missed this cute ad war:

But now I really don't want a Jaguar.
Cars. Gardens. ARRGH.

Today my wife went off to pick up her boss (Because the Boss' car is in the shop) so they could go off to work at one of their clients. As I'm getting dressed to head into the hospital, I get a call.

"Hon, the car stopped on the road near Mostardi's."

So off come the dress slacks, and on go the dirty jeans. And out come the gloves, tools, and bruised knuckles which I use to repair her car so they can get to the client's place and get that garden done!

Things I learned today:
- Fermenting plums that you forgot about in your jeep for a week are a little stinky.
- Chickens like fermented plums. And squishy bananas.
- Core prices on alternators have gone up. ($80 for a core? There's not THAT much copper in there.)
- The Nissan GA16 engine DOES have a belt tensioner adjust. And now I know where it is.
- To change an alternator on a GA16, you should remove the following items to make enough room:
. Upper Radiator Hose
. Passenger Side Fan
- Your back will hurt after hunching over the front of a car that long.

On the plus side, this being the third time I've done an alternator on a sentra, it only took me 3 hours to get the job done. :) And unlike last time, I didn't shred the belt. YAY!
