Getting some more snow, but the winds haven't started yet....kinda unusual, but the majority of the birds have moved from coop#1 to coop #2...a number of birds have swapped back and forth a couple of times including the roos...I haven't closed either coop or either run...I think if its bad, they will stay put or find a sheltered spot...I will be checking every couple of hours tomorrow....gonna be a tough day or two....hope the electric stays on.......
x3 concur ......
I'm going to ask a dumb question here.....if the wind chill is -whatever, & the run is pretty snug & not too drafty, does it still feel like the -windchill? I'd love to let the girls in the run tomorrow cause they'll not be real nice to each other if they have to stay in the coop. Right now I unset the electric door opener & I'll go out around 7:30 and assess the situation before I even think about letting them in the run. I know I'm probably obsessing a bit here but I don't want the girlies to be hurt if I do something wrong.
I have mine on tonight too, I did last night as well but I normally don't do the light thing any more. I did the first year we had them but I only had 2 then & I worried they couldn't keep each other warm enough, now I have 8 & they all huddle together on the roost & that makes me feel better...lol
