Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I've purchased from many independent breeders and from Tractor Supply. the chicks from tractor supple seem healthier. I got a golden laced Wyandotte from Tractor supply in Dillsburg. They get different breeds each week, and I think you can order breeds from them. We bought some blue laced Wyandottes from a breeder and they all died, one by one, 2 of them were paralyzed to the point of not being able to stand up. It was absolutely horrible to watch.

Hi

Welcome from the Poconos!

Well the meaties are growing fast! We have 6 which are 11 days old and another 50 that are 7 days.
We had a problem hatch chick who we brought in a companion for 3 weeks ago. The pair were doing well so we put the first 6 meaties in with them and they got along great. The older 2 taught the meaties to scratch and act like normal chicks, so we began adding the new meaties to their play pen during the day after they were a couple days old and now each morning we put them all in the playpen. They seem to like playing on the logs. They are near our pot bellied stove so the area is very warm and they some times rotate through under the Brinsea also...

so ready!

I am so ready for spring and nice weather. Just seen this from the National Weather Service for my area.

..POTENTIAL FOR SPOTTY FREEZING RAIN EARLY MONDAY MORNING...

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR VERY LIGHT PRECIPITATION TO DEVELOP OVER
PORTIONS OF EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND CENTRAL AND NORTHWESTERN NEW
JERSEY DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON MONDAY. ALTHOUGH
TEMPERATURES WERE MILD THIS AFTERNOON, THEY ARE EXPECTED TO DROP
QUICKLY AFTER SUNSET. THERE IS A CONCERN FOR SOME OF THE
PRECIPITATION TO FALL AS FREEZING RAIN IN THE COLDER SUBURBAN AND
RURAL LOCATIONS BETWEEN THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE/INTERSTATE 195
AND INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDORS.

THE FREEZING RAIN WOULD RESULT IN LOCALLY SLIPPERY TRAVEL FOR THE
START OF THE MORNING COMMUTE, ESPECIALLY ON UNTREATED ROADS AND
SIDEWALKS. IF THE EXPECTED COVERAGE OF THE FREEZING RAIN INCREASES,
THEN A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED.

Muddy season is here. I love the warmer weather but we have knee deep snow out threw and it's melting right through my run. YUCK!

But in better news, I picked up a new roo yesterday :)
Welcome Malcolm!
