Any porcelain duccle or bantam cochin eggs near Lancaster? Haven't heard back from someone in awhile and my sister wants to hatch them for her middle school class. I would be paying for the eggs and keeping the chicks after.

I don't have those breeds, but if you need eggs for a classroom project, I will happily supply some. If no one wants the chicks, I will take them back.

I have an Orpington pen I would like to hatch as often as possible for a personal project. Something strange is happening that was discovered by someone I sent eggs to. I need verification that it is a specific group of birds.

So, just out of curiosity, is albinism the result of genes between two specific parents or is it just a fluke?  I guess I'm asking if all of the chicks would be albino.

I don't know genetics, but from what I understand, if both colored parents carry the gene, there is a 1 in 4 chance of the offspring being albino. It's all accidental at this point. Chippysmom327 and I both googled it and there is very little information about albino chickens, hence her thread chronicling her experience. She told me about them when they hatched, I didn't believe her. Now she has a thread. I joined to provide flock background to those that understand genetics. They are her birds to baby!

They rarely live due to health problems and blindness. That's what makes chippysmom327 story interesting.

That would work, thank you!
