And then they will go in the brooder with my younger chicks until they are up and walking around a bit and then they will go in the other brooder with the older chicks.

Letting a broody sit for two months on eggs sounds like a bad idea for the poor hen doing the sitting. Being broody is hard on a hens body for the 21 days she usually sits, let alone two months.

The voices in my head are fighting again.

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

I was constantly worried that they weren't getting water out of the nipple water we made with a bottle. I was correct to be worried. If you have never seen a dehydrated chick drink water and then suffer from drinking to much it was horiffic. I actually didn't know what was going on at first and after a ton of search it lead to dehydration. One of the smallest chicks was still hanging on. I feed her with a dropper and made her special mash and cuddled her every hour for several days. She is now doing good and back with the other chicks. She is still smaller than the rest, but is now thriving. We bought 8 more to replace the ones we lost. We now have 24. We know what they all are except 2 of them. Theu were suppose to be light brahmas, but they are not. We think they are Delawares. They are also bigger than the rest. Dont know if its because they are older or breed? The first picture are the older chicks. Second is the suspected Delaware. Third is of the new chicks. I do have a question...when can we put the new chicks with the older ones. The older ones are 2-3 weeks older than the new chicks.

I haven't used the nipple waterers, but thank you for this info.  Could save someone a lot of frustration and heart ache.  Sorry you went through this, but glad you've got one on the mend.

I have a question. I have had eggs in the incubator for 15 days. Yesterday one of my Cochins went broody. Would it be possible for me to take the eggs that are in my incubator and put them under my hen? Or should I just leave them in the incubator for the remaining days? Not sure if it's relevant but this is the first time my Cochin has gone broody.

I wouldn't as if she just went broody she could snap out of it and have ur eggs dead if u don't watch her as even if u were to take them out to her she wouldn't expect chicks that early of setting and would probably kill them
