I attempted to graft 2 chicks each to my 3 broody today since their eggs didn't look too promising. Elsa and Honey both dug the chicks out from under them and tried to attack them. Anna happily accepted all of them. She now has 2 lavender ameraucana chicks and 4 olive eggers to raise lol. I'll get pictures in a few days when they've bonded well with each other. I gave Elsa and Honey back the couple eggs that looked like they might still have a chance and we'll see how they do. I forgot to mark when hatch day is but I think they so have a few days to go.
I'm glad Anna cooperated, some hens are really persnickity about the timing thing though. In another couple of days the other two might be great about taking grafts, hens just can't be predictable, it would take all of the drama out of it!
