Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I'm really disappointed right now. Today, for the first time, I let the muscovies out to free range. I really just opened the door Ams allowed them the option to come out. When my husband was leaving for work, Cosmo and Ebony cane running out from under his car. I had no idea they were the whole way out front. The two of them are doing great, sticking together and loving life. But Cocoa is nowhere to be found. We've searched EVERYWHERE! We went through the woods, trapped all around the neighbors yard, checked under the porches, under the coops, everywhere. We even carried the other two around hoping that them talking would get her taking to find her. No such luck :( I'm really upset. She was the first duckling that we brought home and we only got the others to keep her company. I'm praying that she's ok somewhere and that she'll either return on her own at dusk or make some noise so I can find her.

:hugs

Hope she shows up with all sorts of adventures to tell the others about! :fl

Umm. Muscovy aren't supposed to make noise. I'm confused.
Anyway, she could be broody, or a good hider. Aretha went missing, and was there the next day.

Ohhhhh! :th Duckling has more of my attention than BYC (as she should). I was thinking adults. :D
Good luck finding her. :hugs

I found her! Oh what a fiasco! She somehow managed to get under the house and DID NOT want to come out. I ended up having to take half the skirting off the back of the house and put Cosmo in a cage outside of it to bribe her out. At first, I thought she was happy to be out but when I went for her, she dove back under. It took some serious teamwork between me, the kids, and a broom to get her out and keep her out. It took about 45 minutes. NOT a good time. I really wish I had some soda around to mix with some vodka right now. Maybe a fruit smoothie. What a stressful evening!

Anyway, Cocoa is home, safe and sound in the coop. I can now relax and enjoy the fact that I got my first lavender ameraucana egg today.

See, she's home :celebrate and YOU have the stories to share!:gig

Glad the duckling was found!

Jaebels spent the day with the flock but I brought her in for the night. She still isn't 100% yet. Either tomorrow or the next day, she should be back full time. YAY, I'll get my bathtub back!

Anyone near Chester County might be interested in this. I am the "Chester County chicken breeder" giving the talk. Probably no one here needs an introductory course, but if you know anyone interested in getting started with chickens, please apss this along.

if I had the space I would take them

I wonder if they are from Dennis' stock. My cream Legbars are awesome. They are very beautiful and hopefully they will be good layers as well.
