I have no room for any more breeds this year, but calico frizzles are wonderful. If you are breeding them next year, I might have room for some.

I haven't been able to keep pairs at this time. But I am working on another coop option. If I can, I will. If you decide you want some, I'll pass them to you for no charge.

Went to visit dheltzel on Friday, to pick up 4 guineas.....well.....as to be expected, I came home with 8 guineas, 4 little ccl chicks, a large black sexlink pullet, a larger ccl, and a turkey!

Things have definitely been crazy! Guineas for one are a whole new beast, within 5 mins of getting home I thought I lost one, it jumped out and ran, full speed, into the woods. Gone!!!! A few hours later when I got home from dinner, it was back, on the outside of the chicken run, I had to use a pool net to catch the little beast, picked it up, and unlike a chick which you can jist hold, it just screeched it's head off! But, it is safe and sound and i now have 8 again. Crazy birds!!!

I successfully planted the 4 ccl chicks and 3 chicks that Learninmyflock gifted me under a broody, who happily accepted them.

I introduced the older chicks and the turkey of the same size to the flock, and they are getting along just fine, our family is very happy to have a 2nd turkey, and because of her very crooked little toes, we have named her Twisty. Our midget white hen, Tasty, has bee. Talking to her non stop!

I don't think anyone without chickens understand how addictive they are!!!!!

My EE hen that hatched my chicks is broody again. I'm thinking about getting some eggs for her. I don't really need anymore. Thinking of hatching and finding homes for them. Although I'd really like a few white egg layers. Annoyed that we started with five leghorn chicks last spring and now have none. I like white eggs. maybe I'll try California greys? Dhetzel isn't too far from me :D

I ordered 8 royal purple guineas about a month ago. They were so crazy I just sold 3 yesterday hoping 5 are a little easier to handle lol. 2 hrs after putting ad up I had 5 people asking for them. The couple that bought them drove 2 hrs. Hoping I can get some babies from them next year! Letting them and my newest turkeys out with everyone else today. They've been in a cage all week looking at the bigger guys. Hoping they're ready!

@dheltzel I wish I was closer. Really bummed I lost all 4 Welsh babies. Need some new layers after my vacation massacre.

@Annjee if I was closer I'd take every one! They are adorable!

Sorry for everyone's losses. I worry every day when I open my coop door about what I'll find!

My poor girl is still struggling with her bumblefoot. I was hoping it would clear up before I left for vacation, but it is still not good. I have tried to work on it several times, and the other day I got two decent sized kernels out, but her foot was still puffy yesterday.

I worked on her one foot again last night, and I think I got a bit more out. The other night, a kernel actually came out from on top of her foot, but it seems that the other side of the foot pad is still puffy and inflamed. I bandaged her up last night, and I will remove the bandages tonight. Hopefully it will go down before we leave Wednesday. I'd hate to have to have my chicken sitter confine her. She is still eating and drinking normally, but I'm not sure if she has laid, I forgot to check the eggs when I collected them the past couple of days.

She has been limping a little and has been laying down little also. She hates to be confined, but if she is still in bad shape when I come back, I may have no choice. Any ideas?
