Not bad of a find!  I've got a nice pair that I'm taking to the auction in Yates Center at the end of the month, along with some other fancy pigeons.

I'm practically becoming a recluse because of the rising gas prices. It's more peaceful and I enjoy being at home doing my own thing, but feeling stuck doesn't feel good and it gets lonesome once in a while. But, I am blessed to not have to work outside the home so I can't complain.

Okay experts, need some help here...

I've got 4 11-month white Leghorn layers, thanks to 1idwillie from the Topeka swap.  I've got them in with the 28 6-week broilers.  Everyone seems to be getting along just fine.

My question:
They are all going to be eating and drinking from the same pot.  The chicks are ready to get off the starter and on to some type of meat grower.  I need to know what I can feed that will be good for both the meaties and the layers.  I don't have any way of separating them at this time, so something they all can eat is what I need.

Here's a pic of the layers in the coop with the rest.

Coop is coming along, got the posts up for the run and the netting in for the top.  I also have the control box for the PLC built.  I need to work on the program a bit and get the controls installed.

I also finally got myself a farm truck.  1977 Dodge 3/4 ton full-time 4X4 360 4-speed.  No more getting stuck in the yard.  Yay!!

Thanks for the help.

Mike

Mike ,
I almost bought those. No need in buying some high end extravagant food for the same bird. they are of age now so feed them a high protein pellet feed from Valley feed. ITS CHEAPER. besides its spring. let them dang things out in that huge dang  yard and let them feed them selves CHEAPER. Of course you know there will be an argument over the feed issue now.

I turned out the meaties today for the first time.  Everything went well.  I am going to let them have the entire yard while I am home, but keep them in the covered run during the day while I'm at work.  That's if I don't have too much trouble rounding them up at the end of the day.

Make sure they have access to calcium if you end up feeding them the same thing as your meat birds.
