Marty-Here's your hug-hugs.gif

Hawkeye-You should get on that egg offer like a chicken on a june bug!smile.png  Her rosecombs are from the "best of the best."

SPEAKING OF WHICH.... Checoukan-Hey!  Send me some of those eggs!  I could use a few more.  My one hen just doesn't lay enough for me!  Oh, I thought of another "seed" you can plant for the big guy to think about.  Tell him that the more wiring and lights you have to put in that barn the more chance there is for FIRE!ep.gifSeriouosly, in our shop without the sky lights even with all the lights on it still seems dark in there.  I NEVER have to turn the lights on in the new barn except if I am out there at night.  If he has an electrician come out and wire that barn it is going to cost WAY more than skylights.   If he is worried about hail and their durability, they are as durable as the tin.  They make some pretty good stuff these days.  Maybe you could get ahold of the builder and talk to them and get THEM to convince him you need skylights.  Oh, that hatching project you've got going sounds like a big project.  You have done an awesome job with and for those kids down there.  Hats off to ya, Sis!bow.gif

Welcome to all the newbies!welcome-byc.gif  We are glad to have you here!

Sometimes this thread moves pretty fast, so if you ask a question and don't get an answer, just ask again.  I've had a little trouble keeping up lately.  By the time I read all the posts I don't have any time left to post anything or else I forget some of the stuff I want to respond to.  You have to forgive me.  Sometimes I think lack of sleep affects my brain, or else I might be getting oldtimers disease.

HeChicken, thanks for thinking of me on the rabbit cages, I think I'll pass on those. I was told they have them cheaper at the swap meet in Mulvane, so I think I'll just wait now until they start up again to get any more. I did buy two outdoor hutches from my friend in Ark City, one of them is needing quite a bit of work, so that will be another project.

Thank you for all the "welcomes" today.....it has been a great....

New to this thread...and missed the rabbit cage comments...but I know of some people getting out of rabbits in Derby & might still have cages and etc.supplies for sale....if you are interested i can PM you with their info.

Marty1876, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. In Kansas you have every right to protect your livestock. I'm an animal lover myself too, but I have shot dogs in the past that were destroying my property & threatening me & my family. I felt bad about it, but you just can't have them killing your birds when it costs to care for & feed them.

I'm so sorry Danz that your mom got the flu also, I hope she gets through it all right, will keep you all in my thoughts & prayers.

Yes, I would be interested in that info if you don't mind sending me a PM ESP Chickens. Derby isn't too awfully far for me.

Oh BTW, ESP Chickens, come join us on the Kansas Poultry Swap & the Kansas Farm Animal Swap on Facebook also. We have almost 300 members now on the Poultry Swap & about 130 on the Farm Animal Swap now & still growing. It's pretty exciting on both of them.

Oh, for those of you that sell hatching eggs, I have never done that before but got a request today for some, just out of curiosity how much do you sell them for? Mine would be mixed breeds & they're just for a mother wanting her kids to have the hatching experience.

I've already called my DH twice today!  He is heming and hawing about letting me have them!  Ack!  When he gets home, I'm going to try to sweet talk him over a nice big drowsy happy dinner!  hehe!!  wink.png   I want them, I want them!!!!

Danz, soooo sorry that your mom is sick now, too!  I'll keep up the prayers and hope she gets better.  keep us updated on your parents.  Sounds like your basement should be looking pretty good with all that cleaning you've been doing.  smile.png

Okay then, answer me!  Are you going to send me some rosecomb eggs?  It sure would be a shame to have to EAT them.  I think it would take about a dozen to make a meal for Fred.
