Good to meet you Laney! I am new this year as well. I have 18 Delaware chicks from Paul Harter in Missouri (I think 8 pullets and 10 roos) and I have 5 Del eggs from joletabey that are developing nicely and due on May 25th. While I do have a few other breeds, this is my main breed and one that I really hope to help improve!
You got Beth's last bunch, didn't you? I was disappointed when I heard that she's not sending egg anymore.
Oh no! I hope she didn't quit sending because of the problems that I have had?
She just said that she is "not happy with the results in shipped eggs".

I'm sorry to hear of all of the troubles you and your family have had to struggle through in the last year. I know how hard that is to loose family that are near and dear. I too lost my father in 2002 and I still miss him. But, it does get better over time dear lady. It slowly gets better.
] Subsequent chicks from that same pairing might just produce larger chicks in the long run. With what little I know of the history of the Del's and how they came about, seeing the results of your BR/NHR crossing would have me dancing on air. As I understand it, the sport is quite a rarity. Congrats on getting one without actually trying for one!
Isn't that the way these things sometimes go?
It's a total crap-shoot! I really have no idea! Probably some BR over RIR, hence my little black sex links, and maybe one pure [though only of hatchery stock quality] RIRxRIR in the bunch. The rest is anybody's guess!
they are growing
