Well I don't really know. So the second vet said her skin could not grow follicles and s would not be able to grow skin. She is soaking daily and put on silver sulfadizine.

Hi! I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I'm looking to get some free hens . Located in the bay area and can pick up.

Still here, and my 8 pullets from last spring have now all "graduated" to full hen-dom! I've had no time lately to hang out on BYC since our daughter and 2 very small kids moved in with us in March... The 3 year old loves the chickens and is learning how to gently pet them and give treats.

So, hi, everyone, from far northern Cal's redwood coast where spring has definitely sprung now. Love reading your chicken news!

The weather in the SF Bay Area has been wonderful!

My three hens are doing well. Maybe going to add a few more to our flock next Spring.

@Nifty-Chicken -- very good to stagger hen additions -- when one age group slows down egg production the new hens pick up the slack -- plus the younger hens learn from the elders -- and all birds young or old are great for the garden, fertilizing it and foraging for insects. However, all OUR birds are for pure pet entertainment and therapy with eggs being a side bonus that you don't quite get from a dog or a cat

We built a new coop for a new flock spring/summer for 7 random hens and are about to add 5 more because we're crazy.

Our original flock went through a massacre years and years ago, first neighbor's dog and then a coyote.
