(thanks you too so much!!) and then I got some very cute chocolate orp chicks from Allison (my third THANKS so much!!!).  and well I am also coming home with 21 roos packed on ice, close to 6 dozen eggs (still not quite sure how that happened: thanks Cheryl, Stacey, and Sheri), a flock of buff and gold laced brahmas, a lav orp, and 2 silkies from Stacey at Thistledown.  let's just say that every dollar that I have made to pay for my feed this month has been spent and then some!  But, i do have some beautiful birds and will have a lot of chickies in a few weeks!!  And I think, hope, and pray that no more chickens will make it onto my prooperty in the next 6 months that I havent hatched from my own eggs.  This was an eventful weekend.  The only sad thing was not getting a truckload of $14/bag feed from Echo Valley Feed.  Just couldn't squeeze it in.

Thanks Again to Molly for the hours of chicken chat and being so generous!!  Look forward to getting you some great hatching eggs soon and doing my best to feed your collection.  :-) (BTW, I was so close to trying to come and pick up those brooders but just couldn't swing it!)

Thanks Sheri for always hooking me up with more silkie and sizzle eggs than I know what to do with.

Thanks Cheryl for meeting up with me and though I was said to see that beautiful blue partridge brahma pullet go, I know you will do great things with her!  And i'm excited about my MF leghon and Choc Orp projects that you were able to help me out with.

Allison, those chicks look great.  My kids were so happy to see them and their brown little legs.  I think they will get a lot of kid attention at my place.  Thanks for taking them to Cheryl!

Stacey, thanks for letting me wipe you out of brahmas on behalf of me and Mike and for my orp girl and cute little slikies, the kids second favorite.  And thanks to your son for chasing them all over the property with me to catch them!

Great little norcal chicken community.  Goodbye sacramento area (the land of chicken plenty), it's back to redding and the land of chicken lacking... although amy beth, mike, and I are doing our bit to change that!!

OH, DUH!! sorry Ron, Hello, you were the first one I met and that was like eons ago, but thanks so much for meeting up with me for the hatching test!!  And it was the first time I got to meet you face to face.  the man with the hatching plan.  Thanks for your help!  wow, I was all over the place this weekend with some great chicken folk!

Six Dozen Eggs! LOL

It was great meeting you! I am glad I was able to get you in and out of UCD easily. The 3 dozen eggs are doing great so far! Temp and Humidity are right where I want them.

I know right? People keep banties with LF all the time so I assume they survive. I mostly don't want her hurt.

Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.

you know,  you might try leaving everyone ( ducks included) in their coops for the day and see how many eggs you get. I have a feeling you might have girls laying all over the place. Somewhere in the easement  next to us Miss  Fury has hid about 30 eggs,  and a few from the girls she convinceved to go onto the dark side too.  Some chickens just like to be sneaky, and if one chicken gets away wiht it, everyone else starts to think its a good idea.

Now here is a picture of silkie heaven...

700

THAT story is going to have to wait until we move warehouses this week!

PS, the banties will TRY with the large fowl.. but you have to worry about the large roos an the small hens. love ( or Lust) knows no bounds. Next ime Ill take a pic of my nn showgirl/marans...

wow, I just started counting chicks in my head.  i have no self control.  Alright redding get ready for the silky/sizzle onslaught.  Not to mention, now the light sussex have to go.  the silver spangled hamburgs have to go.  I may have to sell the wheaten marans pair.  and the bantam cochins may have to go as well.  Hmm, lemon cuckoo orps may have to go but still holding out hope for those.  I may have to suck it up and build a few more pens this weekend!!

ha, ha, we should start saving those lists in some keepsake box just to see how crazy we really are.  funny how it works. I finally decided to sell my brahmas only to buy more brahmas.  What is wrong with me!  I'm just gonna work on the the buff though and let mr, mike work on everything else, eh mike?!  i know that's why i keep ending up with... just gotta build more coops.  Good for you getting a group together though! just a few weeks away from some more pure eggs! :-)
