For everyone who doesnt know yet I am pregnant with #6. I was hoping to get goats in the spring but now I am thinking I better wait until #6 is born and beyond the newborn stage. I just don't think I will have the energy needed to care for them properly and as I have never raised goats before I would like to give them my whole attention and with a baby I just won't be able to do it. Not only that I have no one who I can depend on to do proper goat care when I am not able to IE in the hospital giving birth etc. I would hate for them to over feed them or something similar and come home to bloated goats. I am very sad about this because I have been planning my goats for almost a year.
But moving on I know have all my goat money to spend on something else......CHICKENS!!!! I have to do something to keep my spirits up and as the girls are really good at taking care of the chickens I have no doubt that they could cover my bases when I am not able to do all the chicken work. Plus they love our chicken so here is the plan.. I have one coop right now. I was thinking of adding 4 or 5 more. I want to splint them into laying and breeding coops. That leaves me one free coop. Now what to put in it????? Any ideas? Here's where you brag about your wonderful breed and tell me I have to try it.
You see now I am excited instead of sad. well sad is not the word but something similar. Oh yeah I already have barred rocks, buff rocks, partridge rocks, white rocks, Delaware eggs and silkies eggs in the bator. so those bases are covered. Any other suggestions?
