First eggs safe to eat?

We haven't gotten any eggs yet. I've read the first eggs are funky shaped and leathery. Are they safe to eat?

Currently chicken and critter free. Not happy about it, but sometimes life deals those cards. I'm thinking - temporary.

I'm an aquarium nut (freshwater). I used to have a fishroom but am limited to a 10 gallon aquarium for now. Well, I'm cheating a little with other "non-aquarium" containers with water. Live plants are the way to go! It doesn't have to be expensive or difficult. If you're...

I ate the first eggs that hatched from my chickens. They were smaller in size but tasted just fine to me. hu

I ate all the first eggs and they have been DEEEELicous!  Dark- sunset-orage yolks with flavor you never get from a market egg- even the cage free good ones.
After all the work you've put into feeding them and caring for them- you betcha I'm gonna eat um!  Unless you've given them medicine or something they are fine.  tongue2

Eggs are eggs first or last. Don't eat them if they smell bad. Otherwise go for it. It is very safe. KEEP YOUR HENS HEALTHY!
