Ron - Can you separate them? Make your flock into 2 instead where the BO's can all be together would be nice.

I let Original's flock run around the yard today.  The faverolles ran straight to the old coop to lay a few eggs, and are still hanging out in there.  Gourmet is holding her wing like there's something wrong with it.  Broken, maybe?  I hope not.  Any suggestions?  I noticed her holding it oddly right after she tried to fly onto a perch and smacked right into it.

Chickens: faverolles, australorps, Delaware, barred rock, welsummer, silver laced wyandotte, lavender and buff x wheaten ameraucanas, BLRW, blue and splash andalusian, cochin, exchequer leghorn, silkie, brabanter, minorca, turken, RIR, brahma, speckled sussex...Ducks: two welsh harlequins, two blue swedish...  Two dogs, a snake, two parents and two kids... and food gardens everywhere else.

Oh wow! Are you able to get a hold of her and check it out? It might be a bruise instead.

Yes Sheryl, I do have a way to separate them. I have a smaller pen and coop that the larger pen encloses. The idea has always been to use that for a breeding pen. But I don't want to keep them separate permanently.

Elizabeth your coop is great - I like how it is the same color and trim as your house! I tried to acheive that same result with my first coop but didn't have near the success you did. I guess it helped that you just finished painting your house, eh?

Ron, if both roos are realitivly calm, them they should get along. If you want him. No pressure.

Enough of you, go lay an egg.

Sunny and Steve delivered Ameraucana chicks from Candy's february hatch to me this evening. 6 hatched--2 lavender, 3 wheaten/blue wheaten, and 1 Buff x Wheaten.  They are about 11 days old, I think, and really adorable. love.gif  I have a brooder in the garage for now.  I didn't get good photos today--didn't want to freak them out too much but here's one.

Missy, hope things are improving with the merging of flocks.

Good Evening Nevadan's!

My 27 chicks are all healthy and thriving still!  I feel blessed, considering everyone else's casualties.  I am amazed how fast the wing feathers are coming in, especially the RIR!

The wind is crazy, glad my babies are safe inside.

5 Barred Rocks, 5 Light Brahmas, 6 RIR,  4, Buff Rocks , 2 Chincoteague Ponies, 1 Hanoverian Gelding, 4 dogs, 3 cats,  Two kids, and one wonderful husband!

OMG, were those in the car when they picked up eggs from me today? Awe, would have loved to see them.

But was awesome meeting Sunny and Steve in person! Such great people!

So beautiful!  I'm soo excited for mine!!!

I was happy to see Original stand up for her faverolles.  As much as they got picked on by everyone else... they were allowed to eat beside her when I put new food in.  Nobody else was allowed, though some tried.  For some reason, that made me feel better.  If the weather is any better tomorrow, I'll let them run around for a few hours.
