Ok, so totally not related to the marriage conversation... My runty Barred Rock, who had pasty butt as a chick and is forever known as "Pasty Butt" although I tried to rename her "Patsy", seems to be developing frizzle-like feathers. She's a weird one. Her wings are different too. They don't come together like everyone else's wings. there are long feathers separate on the wings not covered by other feathers. She's had those ever since she was little but now her feathers are curling up on her breast. I will have to take a photo of her tonight and post it. She is unique for sure.

Hey Sheryl, are you to a point in your breeding program that you'd be willing to hatch for 3rd parties? Today my duckies were feeling needy, so I took them along as I walked a plant over to some really good friends. The husband fell instantly in love, and now says he's going to convince his wife to let him get some. Would you be interested in hatching for them, if she says yes? I also have a client who saw them and is thinking about getting ducks.

I like the double wall galvanized steel ones. They're more expensive, but in the winter, you can put a heater underneath them.

Well Missy, actually we were going to start collecting eggs Sunday to have a hatch date of June 15th there about while my dad is here. I don't have any takers on them yet so I was just debating with John if we should even attempt it right now. If I can get at least a maybe out of them then I will try. Please let them know though that the price they will be paying is not the price this last hatch went for. I'm going to raise my price on the next hatch to $15 each while I keep learning this process of incubating. I had 6 ducklings mature all the way to hatching and then they died. Only 2 of those broke through into the air cell. I have no idea what caused it. On 2 of them the liquid in the egg was thick and that means the humidity was too high at the beginning of incubation. I'm thinking of following another websites instructions on Welsh Harlequinn's to see if that is the actual case. I should have had 13 ducklings from this last hatch by what I saw once I opened all of the unhatched eggs.
