What do pheasants eat?

All those things are good. I usually just give my game bird maintenance feed through the off season along with mixed grains.

mine like the layer crumb, also i take a piece of plywood, wet the ground then lay it there, then every day, i flip it for them, revealing insects and worms, they love that, they wait by the board

I just came across this thread and know it's pretty old, but thought I'd add my 2¢. I gave my Pheasants Game Bird Breeder Pellets which I believe is 21% protein along with the same scratch and cracked corn I give to my chickens for treats. They ate the Game Bird Breeder Pellets with no problem. I also had grit available free choice.

Your feeding the right feed, but they don't need corn until the colder months. They love watermelon, unsalted(only) peanuts, fruits, veggies, wild bird seed. Please don't feed them grapes they choke on them because they swallow them whole.

We don't have them any more. This was several years ago. Their area now has chick grow-out coops and pens. We enjoyed them when we had them. They only got the scratch and cracked corn as treats not as feed. They had their Game Bird Breeder Pellets as their primary food. They knew where their feeder was and their grit pan. Since we gave them grain as treats we also provided free choice granite grit. We live in Florida.
