At the very first sign of a cold start using Zicam ! Every three hours !
www.zicam.com/        only use the lozenges as the nasal spry has been recalled due to lack of being able to smell with use. The lozeges you suck on and
work good for my family.thumbsup

Hey Lady, I didn't forget about your Peanut Butter Fudge.   I have made it twice and DH and DS keep eating ALL OF ITsomad   That's about 5 pounds at a time.   I'll need to make it again when they aren't at home and hide it.   hide   I did get to save some in a tin to send to the person on the 'Secret Santa/Gifts  swap.

2 sticks of butter, use butter that has been sitting out and is soft.
One 18 oz jar of peanut butter
One large  plastic jar of marshmallow
2 pounds of 10X sugar, yes 2 pounds.

Grease  a 13 x9 cake pan with butter.

Now in a microwave  safe (large) bowl put your butter, peanut butter, and marshmallow.

Microwave for 2 minutes remove and stir until all the marshmallow is melted but do it fast so it doesnt get cold.

Now add your 2 pounds of sugar and mix. Watch it will be warm and could be hot.  You will have to use your hands.  Mix until well blended.

Place in the cake pan and push down.  The fudge will be thick so you will need to use your hands again to push it down.   Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator until cold,  about 3 hours.   Enjoy.

If you want to make chocolate fudge use a bag of chocolate chips instead of the peanut butter.

Let me know if you make it.   wee

Just made half of a batch Ginbart!  Waiting for it to be cold??  Not fair!  Thanks for sharing!

Let me know how it comes out.  I never made a half a batch.

And I forgot to tell you all if you use wax paper to press it out you won't get your hands so greasy.

Oh my gosh, I love McKenna's work! I have several of her other patterns. Now, I MUST get this series! I have been thinking about a chicken quilt ... perfect timing!

I would love to join this block swap, BUT ... I don't prewash my fabric. I buy quality quilt shop fabric (I have a quilt shop license and purchase wholesale), and prefer it not prewashed. Quality fabric does not bleed or shrink, and I've never had a problem with it. In addition, it takes too much time! I agree with Eleanor Burns on this one! LOL

I will love to see how everyone's blocks turn out. I will subscribe to your thread. Great idea. Have fun!

I do pre-wash but I think you have a good point about it not always being necessary. I've never had any fabric bleed in the wash.  There does seem to be some shrinkage though as can be seen by the edges, fold the piece and it is a bit tighter/smaller than the original unwashed piece, at least some fabrics are.  I buy from Hancocks and Joann's normally so most of those are absolute/100% quilting cottons.  It would seem that the top stitching would keep anything in place though...I guess the down and dirty is that there are good points to be made on both sides of this issue and the crisp unwashed fabric is pretty appealing! I would be interested in seeing other folks opinion on this since Kathy brought it up...what do ya'll think....

Because quilting is my intro to sewing, I have always pre-washed because most instructions tell you to! That being said, my mother is a seamstress who now makes doll clothes and she point blank refuses to pre-wash any cotton.... I have never seen an issue with anything she has sewn, so I'm guessing good quality cotton behaves without a bath!!
I'm all good with non-pre-washed squares!!
