A Sign of the Times:

As a late reply. At the time in Alaska it was legal to have up to an ounce of marijauna for personal use. Of course it had to come to you like manna from heaven (I knew a few people who thought that was just what it was

) because it wasn't legal to buy, sell or grow it. don't know what the drug laws are there now.

I'd agree also that if I were an employer I'd rather employ the pothead than the drunk.

Mdbucks - my DH is a CPA and a CFP, it's only he and I and another accountant in our office. We do a hefty 500 or so tax returns yearly just with 2 accountants, I'm the office manager and I do billing and bookkeeping etc. We don't have a large staff. So there isn't that liability with employees.

We do well on our own, after so many years with regular clients, and their referrals. And after that, well, we'll retire and think of something else to do!

We put our time in, and hopefully good health will keep us around for awhile to enjoy life.

I wish I owned my own business, but I dont so I have to submit to testing. If I may ask what type of business you have? If it involves any type of operating equipment, and you are hiring someone to do that job would you wnat them high while operating such equipment?? Or would you turn a blind eye and take your chances as to the workers conditions while at work??

So the answer is NO you do not have any operating equipment (unless you are worried about getting a tie caught in printer). And you didnt answer the part about would you turn a blind eye if found out your husband or partner was doing thier job stoned or drunk, so they miss a couple zeros here and there, I dont think you would put up with it very long or you wouldn't be in business very long, because as you said word of mouth would get out that your co is messing up returns do to being too busy staying high. If you can honestly say you wouldnt mind than more power too ya.

No mess ups in our office! I think you can tell when someone is high. We run a very efficient business, not only do we have regular tax clients, but alot of businesses that need their quarterlies done and on time.

My DH quit wearing a tie a few years ago.
