Also, this wouldn't screw up anything familywise, we would just ignore the situation if she were around, and wait for her to comment, this has happened before.

So, no professional help for her, she seems to not need it from us. She can go to some other CPA which will charge her at least double that, probably not pay that bill, and go on to the next unsuspecting professional.
 
She sounds like a piece of work to me. Family or not I would get my money. That's just me though. She obviously has the money to pay you. Have you called her? What has she said to you about it?

If you do let it go then you know now not to do anything for her again.

Its the HOLIDAY season, so I would call and ask for her address, when she asks why say you want to send her a christmas card, but since she OBVIOUSLY did not get the bill for her Taxes since it has not been paid, you have to assume you have her address wrong.
