I have a big bunch of parsley I was going to give to the chickens, but I'm not sure if they like it - or even if it's good for chickens. I hate giving them stuff they hate because then i have to walk around the run picking it up so it doesn't rot and stink.

Ideas?

I tried parsley from my garden the other day (the guinea pigs love it) - but the chickens turned up their beaks and stomped all over it.

I'd give it time or perhaps cut it up into chunks. They might just like the tops if you have them still on or maybe mix it with something else they like. My girls love almost any green I've given them so far. Romaine lettuce took them a while to be interested although. I've noticed so far that chickens can be picky eaters but are constantly on the look for anything to eat.

Just gave mine the parsley. It's been sitting there about 45 minutes and they have smelled it, scratched it and ignored it. We'll see if it's still there when I put them away tonight.

If I put cut parsley down for the girls they will ignore it. But, if I put a clump in a pot they are thrilled and will eat every leaf in just a few days.

My 11 week old chickens love parsley. I have not found a leafy green they won't eat - radish tops, carrot tops, parsley, cabbage, & spinach. Also my hosta leaves.
