Can it be OK to have just one chicken as a pet?

that is so cool... I'm in the depression state, have been for a bit due to illness , my girlie girls, as I called them helped me forget, what I'm facing.......I will keep her if she dies with a broken heart, then she can be buried with her sisters. It was my first time keeping chickens and didn't expect them to steal my heart
 
I would definitely get her other chickens to hang out with. My girls can't stand being separated for more than 20 minutes.
 
It kinda depends on the hen really. Some hens would hate it, some wouldn't mind, some might even prefer it! I had just one hen for a while once and she seemed fine. When I finally got some more hens she was actually a bit disgruntled because they all took over and now she's at the bottom of the pecking order! :/ In general though I'd say it's best to have a few, as they are flock animals by nature. :)
