I Love That Comb!!!!!

Saipan Jungle Fowl. He is beautiful and ugly at the same time. Not an aggressive suiter, actually rather of a fraidy cat. At night he literally sticks his head under our Dark Brahm hens to sleep. Odd.

I'm a single parent of a special needs teen. We live next door to my elderly parents and help them with the farm. We have 2 Labradors, several pet pigs and Bantam chickens. Together we raise Nubian goats, all sorts of chickens, 2 guard Llamas and a guard Emu and Sebastopol geese. We sell our extra garden produce, eggs, goats milk, Llama poo fertilizer, nursery stock, chicks &/or fertilized eggs!

Yes the Ceylon have cool combs. During breeding season the comb gets larger and gets the bright yellow center.

pondering a thought... could it be he hides his head because of the bright feathers, a safety mechanism so he's harder to spot at night?

Those are some super sharp looking birds.  Nice.  Have you been successful raising young?  Good luck, it looks like you have strong birds.

Mixed Longcrowers and Longtails.  GreY junglefowl Hybrids.
Just the coolest chickens ever.  That's all.
Pictures of some Bengals, scroll to the bottom after you click on the link;
