After the fact, I'm pretty sure my silkie (possibly mix) roo killed my sweet lil silkie hen...I got there before she actually died and tried to save her, but her head wounds were too severe. I had originally thought it to be my turkey hen or my gander...until I witnessed the severity of Mr Roo's mating habits with one of my lil red banty hens. He wasn't just mating her, he was severely abusing her (I'd almost call it rape!) He was dragging her around by her head and ripping at her head and neck! She was desperately trying to get away from him, but he was beyond determined! I was finally able to get her away from him (and will probably bear the scars from my efforts for life!) She had wounds on her neck, head and comb and he almost took one of her eyes! I brought her in snd washed her wounds and put her in a safe place inside to heal.
I left Mr Roo in the coop with my barred rock hen (my only full-size hen), the other red banty hen (I hadn't seen him mess with her) and my other weird little banty hen (no clue what SHE is!) When I went to put them all away for the night, I saw he had pecked the other red bant hen's head also (luckily not as severely!)
Needless to say, he's been separated from all the hens and I have put an ad on Craigslist offering him as a rooster for full size hens only...or an alarm clock ;) (I'm really hoping he doesn't end up in a pot...not a ton of meat on a silkie anyways!)

If he's that aggressive perhaps he shouldn't be rehomed, that type of violence from a rooster shouldn't be passed on to someone else, sorry for your hens.

I was very honest in my ad...I have done dog rescue for years and have always found it best to give the facts, rather than hiding them, to find a dog a forever home. I did the same for Mr Roo. He hasn't touched the barred rock (I suspect she'd beat the crap outta him! LOL), nor has he touched the one I call my funky chicken (seriously, she looks more like a smaller pigeon than a chicken!) I'm sure he'd probably try with both of them eventually, but now I'm not going to give him that opportunity!
With other animals I've found homes for, I'm realistic when it comes to their future.I know that I have no control over what happens to them (even the foster dogs, even with the contract the adaptors sign...I've been fostering for too long to know the reality!)
Bottom line, I can only hope there is some kind of happy situation for every being...hope is all I've got!

Well said, good luck. And thanks for helping the dog of this world, so many are not as lucky as mine I know.
