My husband thinks I'm chicken crazy! Any one else have this problem?

My DH doesn't have the "warm fuzzies" for the chickens, but he does get a mild kick out of having livestock in a neighborhood where it's not typical.

We got a bill for heating oil delivery, and he noticed that the printout from the oil delivery company's computer had on it that the filling pipe was "on the house, right next to the chicken coop". He got a big kick out of that.

I've got 70 or so mainly standards & a few bantams & 5 mallards. They all free range.
Very lucky to have an understanding DH, when we got to the store,he's always asking me if we need grapes or sunflower seeds etc... for the chickens.

He's built the most awesome coop out of recycled materials & it's almost as much square foot as our small home.

Yeah... my husband thinks I'm crazy. Most of it is in my sig line. What ISN'T is the fact that we currently have 3 house chickens living in here. For the man who only agreed to 2 birds TOTAL in the first place, he's doing rather well.

Ah, well.. I've already told everyone I don't mind getting dementia when I'm elderly.. as long as my fantasy world is full of butterflies and fairy dust (and chickens, and cats, and dogs, and horses, and cows, and goats, and...)

My DH says that he married me for the entertainment value ... Aside from all my pets listed below, I'm looking into getting some hatching eggs this spring and possibly another dog ...if I can find a good puppy.
The good news is that although my DH doesn't really have a thing for animals, he will build anything that I ask for and when I'm away, he does care for all my pets.
Of course he only does the bare minimum ...says that's because if he did too good of a job they wouldn't be so excited when I came home

He's got me there.

My family also thinks I'm chicken crazy. We have 2 Rhode Island Reds and 5 Cornish X's. They're getting angry because I keep buying them special stuff like wood shavings. They say why not use hardware cloth for flooring instead and hose it off when it gets dirty? I also let them in the house sometimes and they say what are you doing get them out of here!

Here at the Philippines, chickens are really nothing but poultry animals......just for eggs and meat and nothing more........not feathered companions............but when I found BYC.com, I found them as pets and friends.........so you would imagine what the people would say if they see you with a chicken on your lap and petting them.
