Your birds are easter eggers, like Illia told you on the araucana thread. smile.png

We were told when we bought our babies they were Ameraucana but we are new to chickens so not sure if they are pure bred or mix maybe some one can tell me.

The one in the pic is Boy we call the one who's back you can see little bit and we have one we are nursing back to health we call falcon. However we are not sure if they are mix or not.

How can I tell the difference between easter eggers and Ameracauna's??

I love poultry of all kinds-- at present have chickens, ducks and guineas..... and hoping the flocks increase!

Amen to that!  I don't like the fads, a lot of crappy birds come from them.

If you can, buy from somebody that will sell you lavs AND splits., Then you know you are buying from somebody that is trying to improve them and not just cash in on a fad.

I have two wheaton Ameraucana chicks, one slightly older than the other.  Up til recently, I thought both were pullets, but now I'm not so sure.  The younger of the two has a much more pronounced comb than the older one, but the coloring would lead me to believe it is a pullet, too.  So, I come to the experts for some assistance.

Both pullets together.  The younger one on the left and the older one on the right:

The older one (for comparison purposes):

The one in question:

The two of them again from above (younger at top, older at bottom):

So, do I have two pullets or a pullet and a roo?  Are they both wheaton or blue wheaton?  TIA

Hubby calls it my menagerie.  I just call it home.  Could be a lot worse.  I used to list all my various birds, critters, and dogs here, but the list is changing too fast now!  Let's just say I have Ameraucanas, EE, Light Brahmas, bantam buff Cochins, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, and Nigerian Dwarf goats. Oh, and can't forget my three beautiful Labradors, Eli, Gage, and Conner.

How old are they?  I might be able to help with the sexing, but I don't know to much about the w/bw/sw.  I think the one on the left looks like an EE???  The one on the right somebody might say is a bit gingery???  Not sure...................  There legs look slate,  maybe a wheaton/buff cross???  Perhaps somebody jumped the fence.  I would say the one on the left is a pullet is she is close to 4-5 months, if she is younger like 2-3 months that is a roo.
