I do add in cat food, but it is just an add-in, not a replacement for layer crumbles.

But I agree with dstokely, close up pics would help, if you can, natural indirect light is best...

I had a blue roo I thought had leakage, he turned out to have some sun bleaching instead, so maybe????

Though I do know someone who has a blue with leakage........

They've been in a garage for a month and a half. I didn't get more pics of the birds because I found THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were they hiding them on you or did 8 girls all start laying the same day?

2 each: Black Australorp, Salmon Faverolles, 1 each Ancona, Easter Egger. From Ideal Poultry, hatched June 12, 2012

2 JGs (non standard BAs??), 2 White Rocks, 2 EEs. From Meyer, hatched June 8, 2015

Um, no ;)  I would look at the ingredients and nutrition percentages on the different types. Only if they had relatively equal nutrients would I substitute dog or cat food for chicken food. But pet food tends to be more expensive so why do it?

I guess she is! Given you live in Spokane, it probably stayed above freezing right? If so you have 8 useable eggs there :D

I give moistened cat food and canned tuna during the molting season....my birds LOVE it!

I couldn't get him to assume the normal chicken standing position.....

wonky comb, and his beard and muffs are wet from drinking water

The leakage is right in the middle of the pic

Here is my little girly girl

Her comb is so tiny!!!!

Ok, yeah, that's leakage... sorry...

And the comb looks almost single... unless he is for a project, I wouldn't use him as a blue, personally...
