Sex- linked Information - Page 7

My goal is for some rumpless barred hens that lay blue/green eggs.   Below is the rooster I'm using, he's purebred Araucana.  The hens are cuckoo Marans.  This cross would produce sex linked chicks so the barred chicks will be roosters.  From this cross,  can  I breed one of the resulting rumpless barred roosters (with pea comb) back to the Maran hens and get some barred, rumpless pullets?  I know I'll also have to cull the pullets for only pea combed if I want the blue/green eggs.  Is there a better suggestion to reach my goal?

Ok, I am so confused... I thought I did all of my homework on the chicks I purchased yesterday. I bought 8 Rhode Island Red/ Red Star crosses. I hope I got the right one's. They are all 4 weeks old. We want Hens, and not roosters. All of them are dark in color, a few of them have the lighter heads, but darker bodies..... I guess it really doesn't matter. I have enjoyed them. Is there a way to tell what are going to be pullets, and which are going to be roosters? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if my Auburn Java Rooster cross breeds one of my Silver Laced Wyandotte or Pymouth Barred Rock, do I get black sex-links?

What if my Barred Rock Rooster gets to some of my red sex-links?

Or SLW X PBR either way?

I know my Java Roo got to my EE hen, but I can never find an egg from her, EVER!

My Family...the wife, son 17, daughter 14, daughter 8, Beagle mix and missing my chickens like crazy! Maybe some new Backyard chicks in a coop soon?

Yes the RIR roo to barred rock hens will produce sex link chicks but the RIR hens to barred rock roo would not.

Nope,  you could with Silver laced Wyandottes, but not Golden laced

Hatching eggs are no longer avaiable from any breeds until further notice due to predator problems and birds being too old .

yes,  you should get 50% cuckoo ofsping. also if you cross one of the F1 cuckoo sons back to Araucana hens you should get 50% cuckoo ofspring since the cuckoo son will have one copy of the cuckoo gene.
