We're in the mountains as well.  We're reseeding every 2 to 3 weeks with fescue & rye so the ducks and geese can havr fresh grass.  We have different sections so that once they eat down the one section, we can move them to another that has already been reseeded.  We're also growing kale, collards, and mustard and although its slowing down, we're still getting it because its a cold weather seeding.

Hi Laurie,

I've been doing that too.  Crimson Clover and rye.wink

I wish the geese liked collards cuz I have LOT's. They do like Kale, though and sorrel. I need to move the sorrel into the greenhouse so that it grows better now that it's cool. I left for 5 days and they got into my veggie garden. The devoured every morsel of my lettuce!lol

3 Curly white Sebastopols, and now 4 goslings to raise through fall. One is spoken for, 2 females and a male will be available after they feather out.

Yup, I'm not far from you at all.  And thank you!  Happy belated birthday to you!

Mine prefer kale over everything but in a pinch they'll tolerate other greens.  Spoiled rotten babies.  It's like my chickens....they don't like peas.  UGH!

Hi Crystal,
I dont sell hatching eggs and even if I did I wouldn't sell them this time of year.
Winter is not a good time to raise babies.
