Hi everyone
My name is Pat and I live in Jamul CA. I have been lurking here for a while learning alot about raising chickens, thanks for all the info.
My coup is 80% finished and the birds are doing well. I have 4 RIR and 4 Barred Rocks. One RIR is a rooster I think. I dont know how old they are. I have had them about a month.; They are about twice as big as when I got them.
From what I have learned here I think the coup and outside area is adequate for my flock. The hen house is a plastic shed I purchased to be used as a dog house but the dogs now sleep inside, so I put it to good use. The run area is chain link with a layer of chicken wire all around. It is extended under the ground about a foot.
