A couple months ago I lost my DL. I went back and called every store and place that I had gone. No one had it. I go and get a new one at TX DPS. I asked the woman their if there was anyway to put an alert in the computer because I had no idea where it was. She said no, gave me no other advice. Thanks alot. Well, yesterday I get two "bills" in the mail for over $1500  Someone had opened a checking account in my name and gone to Walmart in Waco, TX and purchased who knows what. Scumbag. The Sheriff's Dept. came out and took my report. I can't freakin believe this. I hope that piece of crap has a MERRY CHRISTMAS on me.
Little do they know, they have screwed with the wrong person. I will hunt them down like a dog and take that $1500 out of their a**. What has this world come to? I am usually such a positive person, heck I would have given the person $1500 worth of food or clothing, but to have them steal it. IT"S ON.....

The scary part is that this is probably just the tip of the iceberg. They probably went to other stores and had a good 'ol time on me. Like I said before, they picked the wrong person to victimize.

Oh, I also meant to say that you can have an alert put on your SSN. I forget what number you have to call, but it shouldn't be hard to Google it or something. I've had to do it before when I thought someone was using my ID. Thankfully in my situation that was not the case.

Here's a link for you to check out http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/con_steps.htm It's from the federal trade commission and it talks about that alert I mentioned. There's also all the numbers to all the credit reporting agencies on the site as well.

You poor thing!, my friend almost had that happen when she was at the ATM me and a friend were sitting in the car with her while she with-drew some money. We were about to leave and my friend said "HEY! dont forget your card in the ATM!" lol. Thank god she was paying attention, any who I hope you find that sun of a gun and beat him to the ground and six feet under

Hey, Purple, I put a fraud alert in with the 3 big credit companies. What is lifelock.com? Should I pay for a credit report right now? Will that show where else this piece has been?

For $10 a month lifelock.com will do it for you. They notify all the credit bureaus and
will notify you if anyone tries to open an account in your name.

To open a checking account you need a license # and SS#.

The credit report should show ANY accounts of any kind opened in your name (bank, credit cards, store cards, etc.) I agree, pay for it and get it NOW and start making phone calls ASAP. This is still a problem that, unfortunately, people are pretty much left to deal with on their own.
