Mixing different age chicks

Thread Starter

I have 11 chicks that are a little over a week old and had 10 hatch yesterday and ordered 10 from the pet store and will pick them up today.  Can I mix the batches or do I need to keep them seperate?

I would'nt put the pet store chicks with your chicks, for a couple weeks just make sure their not sick or have any other issue's and after that time, you could put them together as long as they about the same size, so the wee ones wont get stepped on

I agree, keep them seperate to make sure they're not sick, then gradually introduce them to each other. We used our puppy play yard and put them in the front yard together daily for a few hours at a time.    Good Luck! smile
