Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has found a use for chicken blood. If you are butchering 100's at a time you know that it can add up. Has anyone used it as fertilizer? I understand that it is really high in nitrogen.

In the olden days it was said to draw poison and have medicinal purposes or something like that.

You might want to post this on the butchering thread so you don't irk people.

Satanic rituals..

I might have to give that recipe a shot, though I probably shouldn't tell hubby about the chicken blood until AFTER he tries it, otherwise he might not try it. lol

I was just being silly... I'm not evil..really.. usually..

i was thinking about that stupid movie from the 80s, with lisa bonet..caused a huge deal over her bathing in chicken blood or something..
i cant remember.

Bloodmeal is one of the highest forms of nitrogen fertilizer...I would think that if you are into composting and have a large garden, you could use it, to fire up a compost pile.
